These three stocks have a strong chance of topping Wall Street estimates, says FBB's Mike Bailey
Google parent-company Alphabet is among a handful of stocks that could surprise to the upside when it reports earnings later this month, according to FBB Capital Partners director of research Mike Bailey. Alphabet stock was one of three companies that Bailey said he's watching on " Power Lunch " on Friday. Danaher Danaher also has a track record of beating earnings estimates, Bailey said. Still, the life sciences stock has slipped nearly 11% so far in 2025. Bailey pinned some of its past struggles on difficult comparisons coming out of the Covid-19 pandemic as well as some "misses" with acquisitions. However, he expects trends are turning, settin up for an earnings beat on July 22, he said. DHR YTD mountain Danaher stock in 2025. "The reason I think it's a good name to own into earnings season is really fewer distractions could drive more earnings," Bailey said. "As they work through some of these issues, along with tariffs ... it does seem like this game of whack-a-mole could be coming to an end and they could have some good results in Q2." Progressive Progressive stock has ticked up more than 2% so far this year. The insurance company is set to report second-quarter results on Wednesday. The bar for earnings estimates is low, said Bailey, which could help Progressive notch an earnings beat. "At this point, I think we're in pretty good shape. If you look back at the last two months, Wall Street only took up estimates basically in-line with how good April [and] May was," Bailey said. "They really haven't taken things up, so June doesn't look that aggressive." PGR YTD mountain Progressive stock in 2025. "However, we could be looking at 60%, 70% earnings growth quarter-over-quarter out of a car insurance company that just almost boggles the mind." Alphabet Stock in the Google-parent company has pulled back roughly 5% so far in 2025. Some of the lingering questions about Google search performance could get answered when the company reports its results on July 23. Investors also want to see strength in its cloud and YouTube segments, which should drive a strong quarterly result. GOOGL YTD mountain Google stock in 2025. "The theme of this quarter is all about competition — in particular AI competition," Bailey said. "The other stuff at Alphabet is doing pretty well ... [but] looking at those paid clicks, that is very critical." "It is kind of a question, but I think given everything else at Alphabet that's working well, margins have also been helping them out, I do think that's something that's going to push them over the finish line. If you look at the track record, very good job historically in terms of beating quarterly expectations, so we do see another good result coming up here in a few weeks," he said.

When asked about his brief stint with TNA, Greene revealed that the company reached out to him to do more dates with them but he was already working over in Japan. Advertisement 'I got that call like a week before the show happened,' Anthony Greene said. 'I went down to Miami to do the tapings. I wrestled [Beast Mortos] and Mike Bailey in the same day. I thought me and [Mortos] went well, but me and Mike Bailey was incredible. 'We had a seven-minute X Division sprint-style match. Everyone was really happy with it. Scott D'Amore was super happy with it. Dreamer, Gail Kim, everyone seemed pleased. Stayed in contact with them. A month later, I was on a plane to Japan to do a four and a half month tour (with NOAH). I got a text from Tommy Dreamer as I landed saying, 'Are you available this Friday in Orlando?' 'No, I'm not. I'm in Japan until May.' 'That's kind of where the conversation ended at that point. Up until now, I've been full time with NOAH until December. I haven't really had talks with anybody. December, when I got home, the first thing I did was went to the MLW taping in New York to show face and meet Court Bauer and MSL. That's how this whole thing got rolling. All I needed was the opportunity to be in the United States long enough to have a chance to be in front of a national wrestling company, and MLW happened to be the one I chose.' Basketball team at Chicago's Saint Patrick High School is headed to state tourney for first time
Saint Patrick High School in Chicago's Portage Park neighborhood has not had the luck of the Irish in past Illinois state basketball tournaments — but this year, the Saint Patrick Shamrocks are dancing the jig all the way to Champaign. Mike Bailey has 31 seasons under his belt as head basketball coach at Saint Patrick, and he got a lot of messages sent to his phone after St. Patrick beat Mount Carmel High School in supersectionals. "I have 151 texts, I have 27 emails, and I have 15 phone calls that I need to return," says Mike Bailey, Saint Patrick Head Coach. Now, for the first time in history, the Saint Patrick basketball team is headed to the state tournament. "We have come so close to getting downstate. The last four times we lost in overtime to La Grange, we lost to Saint Joe's by one point, we've lost to Saint Ignatius in double-overtime, and Mount Carmel in overtime — so heartbreaking, heart-wrenching loses," Bailey said, "so upsetting Mount Carmel means a lot to everybody here at Saint Pat's." The players were every bit as jubilant. "It was a great feeling, surreal feeling knowing all the hard work we had paid off — the dedication, the preparation," said EJ Breland, a senior guard. "We know that it was a big game for us, for the family, alumni, crowd — it was a big game for everyone." "In my four years, we've been to that game three times and it was my first time winning that game. So it's just a really special thing, and we've put in the work," said Anthony Favia, also a senior guard. "It means everything to me because it's my senior year, so it was my last chance to win the supersectional game, but we're not done yet." The Shamrocks are two wins away from the ultimate goal of a state title. Standing in the way in Thursday's semifinal is Brother Rice. Bailey was asked if he has idea how many from the school community will be going down to Champaign? "Well, we will sell out our [ticket] allotment, for sure. The nice thing is Brother Rice brings a big crowd, too," Bailey said. "But I will tell you this, Saint Patrick High School playing downstate on St. Patrick's Day weekend, the town of Champaign, better get ready right there." A win in Champaign would be the 679th win for the legendary Coach Bailey.
