UK-based independent accounting and business advisory firm HURST has promoted Ryan Tattler to the role of associate partner. The business services team at HURST, which Tattler is now a part of as associate partner, is the firm's largest, comprising more than 70 staff. This team is responsible for a range of services, including audit, compliance, strategic advisory, outsourcing, and business planning, catering to a growing national client base. Tattler's promotion is part of a broader trend of internal career advancement at HURST. Earlier this year, Aaron Booth, Alex Burgon, and Lisa Everett were appointed as managers, while Georgia Hall stepped into the role of associate manager. Like Tattler, Booth, Hall, and Everett began their careers at HURST as trainees and have since qualified with the firm. Additionally, Danielle Tierney recently advanced to the position of manager within HURST Corporate Finance. Reflecting on his promotion, Tattler stated, "I'm incredibly proud to have been promoted to associate partner. It's a significant milestone in my career and a reflection of the support and opportunities I've had at HURST over the past ten years." He credits the variety and complexity of his work, as well as the training and development provided by colleagues, for his career progression. HURST partner Mike Jackson, who heads the business services team, said: 'Ryan has shown he can build strong relationships with clients while maintaining the market leading professional standards we expect. He has also shown himself to be a strong leader within the firm, helping to drive change and develop how we run the business.' Married to Real Estate hosts Egypt Sherrod and Mike Jackson lash out after their show was canceled during a vacation
Married to Real Estate hosts Egypt Sherrod and Mike Jackson are breaking their silence after HGTV canceled their beloved show. The married couple launched the show in 2022, following them as they balance their personal and professional lives as they help clients in Atlanta land their dream homes. The show wrapped up its fourth season back in late May, with the third season pulling in 16.6 million viewers, though it seems HGTV decided to cancel it while the couple was on vacation. The couple released a joint statement on their respective Instagram accounts, though Jackson made it quite clear on his Instagram story that he was not pleased with how it happened, while hinting at a working environment that was not ideal. 'I can't front. I'm a bit tight and disappointed. If y'all only knew what we have to put up with and endure,' he said in an Instagram story slide. He also shared a number of clips from the show, along with a video of him and his wife dressed for a formal affair, captioned, 'We got us,' and a slide that read, 'Either WE building or I'M building. Either way, it's getting built.' The couple's official statement on the matter from Egypt was more cordial, though it hinted there was much more they had to say in the future. 'Mike and I just landed back in the States after an unforgettable family trip through the Mediterranean, and we're met with unexpected news: HGTV has decided not to move forward with Married to Real Estate,' the joint statement began. 'While the chain of events leading up to this is disheartening, we are deeply grateful,' the statement continued. 'Grateful for four incredible seasons. Grateful for our amazing crew and supportive fans. Grateful that our businesses continue to thrive,' they added. 'And most of all-grateful that we are still very much married to real estate (and to each other),' they said of their marriage, as they get ready to celebrate their 15th wedding anniversary in September. They also hinted at some acrimony with HGTV, indicating while the cancellation was a surprise, it may have also been a blessing in disguise. 'There's more to say, and we'll share soon. But for now, know this: not all setbacks are what they seem. Some blessings show up in disguise,' they added. 'We've been here before. We'll keep counting those blessings-and keep it moving. Stay tuned,' the statement concluded. They also hinted at some acrimony with HGTV, indicating while the cancellation was a surprise, it may have also been a blessing in disguise The post was captioned, 'Sometimes GOD will rip you out of a situation to set you up for your next!' Sherrod is the CEO of the Egypt Sherrod Real Estate Group, while Jackson is the owner of Jackson Draper Renovations. They both served as judges on HGTV's Rock the Block in Season 2, and competed themselves in Season 3, prevailing as champions. Sherrod also hosted HGTV's Flipping Virgins from 2015 to 2018, and they both host the successful Marriage & Money podcast as well.

Removal of central road line on Jersey road aims to cut speeds
A parish constable has backed efforts to slow down drivers by removing the centre white line on a Jersey Government of Jersey said it removed the white line on Route de Noirmont, St Brelade, as part of a six-month trial to see if it encouraged road users to reduce their speed. Constable Mike Jackson said the majority of parishioners he had spoken to had backed the for Infrastructure Constable Andy Jehan said the trial was aimed at reducing accidents. He said there had been "quite a lot of support" for not reinstating the markings once the trial had finished once the trial has finished. "I've had some feedback from one or two residents who are concerned that the white line isn't there and that a danger is being created but others are very supportive of the issue and getting used to it," he said. However, Jean Baird, who lives on Route de Noirmont, raised concerns about the removal of the line."They go along the middle of the road faster and we have great difficulty trying to ease out of our entrance," she said."They think they can go down the middle of the road and just bomb down there."There's been quite a few near misses and I can just see an accident waiting to happen." 'Far too many accidents' Jehan said the white line had been removed from a road in St John and it had it was showing success in reducing speeds and accidents."We are doing it for a reason, we want to reduce the amount of collisions on the island and this is part of that process," he said."We would urge anybody using the road whether they're driving cycling or walking to pay attention because we have far too many accidents in Jersey."We're monitoring the speed periodically and are hopeful that the speed is going to reduce."

Feasibility study to look at options for MLFD
Jun. 7—Key points: * Moses Lake officials say city has the option of keeping MLFD as it is, converting it to a municipal fire district or a regional fire authority. * Feasibility study will look at all three options. * Conversion to any fire district would require a public vote. MOSES LAKE — Moses Lake city officials will advertise for a consultant to conduct a feasibility study to determine what changes, if any, would be beneficial for the Moses Lake Fire Department. City officials have been looking at ways to reduce expenses, including a restructuring of the fire department, and Fire Administrator Mike Ganz told Moses Lake City Council members May 23 that his analysis determined the city had three options. "Those three options would be, maintain your current municipal fire department, or option B would be to convert it into a municipal fire district," Ganz said. "There are new laws, one in particular, that would allow the city to convert into a fire district within the city limits. The third option is a more traditional regional fire authority." Council members included $75,000 in the 2025 budget to pay for the feasibility study after the then-interim City Manager Mike Jackson suggested looking at a regional fire authority. "To make a significant impact on your budget, and something we've discussed, would be the formation of a regional fire authority," Jackson said in November 2024. "It is a way to free up millions of dollars to help support other city functions." Ganz said the rules for a regional fire authority would require, among other things, another agency as a partner. A regional fire authority also requires a planning committee. "If you're going to do a feasibility study, I feel like it's really valuable to do a planning committee of stakeholders and just follow that process, whether you're doing the RFA or the municipal district," he said. "I think the benefit and the transparency is going to be the right way to go." Either a regional fire authority or a municipal fire district would require a vote, Ganz said, and in either case, there would be some deadlines city officials would have to meet. City Manager Rob Karlinsey said the rules for a municipal fire district are a little unclear, especially concerning who the governing body actually is. That would have to be clarified, he said. A lot of decisions would be required if council members decided to convert to some kind of district, Ganz said, from transferring equipment to impacts on retirement. Mayor Dustin Swartz asked how many cities in the state have established a municipal fire district. "We'd be the first," Ganz said. In answer to a question from council member David Skaug, Ganz said the laws for a public vote would determine the deadlines for the council to make a decision. Karlinsey cited the example of converting to one kind of fire district or another in 2027. The best time for a vote would probably be the August 2026 election, which means the preliminary work would have to be finished by the first quarter of next year.
