Mile Svilar to sign new 5-year contract with Roma in July
Mile Svilar to sign new 5-year contract with Roma in July Roma are one step away from finalizing the contract renewal of Mile Svilar. The negotiations, which have kept the future of the Belgian goalkeeper in suspense, now seem to have reached the final stages. Advertisement The final agreement is expected by the start of the summer preseason training, putting an end to a long but negotiation. Roma's new sporting director, Frederic Massara, is working to define the final details with the player's agent. According to Corriere dello Sport, the proposal currently being finalized includes a five-year contract with a salary of 3.5 million euros per year plus bonuses. This is a figure significantly higher than the current salary, which is around a million euros. An initial offer of 3 million was rejected, but the increase and the new conditions seem to have led the parties to an agreement. Claudio Ranieri's role also facilitated the agreement: the former coach, in fact, maintained frequent contact with Svilar in recent weeks, encouraging the rapprochement between the player and the club.

Roma consider offering new 8-year contract to Svilar
Mile Svilar remains one of the few key players that Roma have made it their priority to keep ahead of next season. According to Il Messaggero, during the last meeting between former sporting director Florent Ghisolfi and the Serbian goalkeeper, a long-term contract renewal was discussed. Advertisement The idea, initially proposed by the player's agents, includes an extension of up to eight years, taking advantage of the recent decree approved by the Council of Ministers on June 20, which allows for longer agreements than the previous five-year limit established by the sports reform. What initially seemed like a provocative proposal is now being seriously considered by the capital club. A concrete sign of the club's confidence also came through a recent phone call from newly appointed sporting director Frederic Massara, who confirmed to the player Roma's desire to focus on him for the future.

Reasons behind Florent Ghisolfi's Roma exit
Serie A side Roma will part ways with sporting director Florent Ghisolfi soon and the decision has come rather abruptly from the Friedkins, who are no strangers to making those. La Gazzetta dello Sport have explored the situation and they speak of the reasons behind the Frenchman's exit from the Stadio Olimpico. Advertisement They believe that tensions were lingering at the club due to the situation of Mile Svilar, whose contract situation was being delayed. While the farewell took place by mutual agreement, the goalkeeper's renewal proved to be the last straw for the Friedkins. The newspaper claim that Ghisolfi had a strained relationship with many agents – including those of Alexis Saelemaekers. The ownership wanted to cash in on the sale of Angelino and the failure to do has fallen on Ghisolfi's shoulders. More than that, there were issues regarding the renewals of many Primavera players. These issues emerged in a clear video call involving the parties and the Friedkins learned that only Claudio Ranieri's intervention was making sure of Svilar's renewal. A solution was reached early in the morning and CFO Lorenzo Vitali was the one to show Ghisolfi the door, with Ricky Massara in pole position to replace the Frenchman. Kaustubh Pandey I GIFN
