MCTE convocation ceremony: 37 awarded PG diplomas, 16 get BTech degrees

Mhow: Thirty-seven graduating student officers of Graduate Entry Equipment Orientation (GEEO-57) course were awarded PG diplomas in information and communication technology, while 16 student officers of Technical Entry Scheme (TES-43) course were awarded BTech degrees in computer and communication engineering during a convocation ceremony at Military College of Telecommunication Engineering (MCTE) in Mhow on Saturday. Brigadier Deven Makhija administered the pledge to graduating officers for commitment of their acquired knowledge to enhance professional effectiveness in the discharge of their duties. MCTE Commandant Lt Gen Vivek Dogra was the chief guest of the ceremony. He gave prizes and awards to the officers. While addressing the passing out officers, Lt Gen Dogra commended the graduating officers for their sustained hard work, application, and performance. He also appreciated the commitment of the instructional staff for their relentless pursuit in conducting the courses in a professional manner. The Signal Officer-in-Chief gold medal, trophy, and Commandant's silver medal were awarded to Lt Yash Vardhan of the TES-43 course. The Commandant's gold medal and trophy were jointly awarded to Major Bhawna Chhetri and Captain Garima Sharma of the GEEO-57 course. The Commandant's silver medal was awarded to Major Sarwan Dubey and Captain Nalini Singh of the GEEO-57 course. Lt Yash Vardhan, Lt Harsh Dahiya, Lt Vibhor Singh, and Lt Pralad Singh of the TES-43 course were awarded the silver medal for the best project.

Major progress in developing indigenous post-quantum tools: Indian Army

The Indian Army on Friday said it has taken a "significant leap" in harnessing quantum technologies with the development of indigenous post-quantum cryptography applications, a move that aims to bolster its capabilities across domains and to ensure the force remains future ready in "ever-evolving technological landscape". In a post on X, ADG PI - Indian Army also shared some photos along with a caption titled - "Enabling the Battlefield of Tomorrow with Quantum Tech". The Indian Army had declared 2024 as the 'Year of Technology Absorption' and is undertaking various initiatives to induct niche technology and systems into its inventory. "The Indian Army takes a significant leap in harnessing Quantum Technologies with the development of indigenous Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC) applications," it posted. These applications have been developed by the Military College of Telecommunication Engineering (MCTE), Mhow, under the aegis of the Corps of Signals and in alignment with the technology research vision of the Chief of the Army Staff, the post read. "Post-Quantum Cryptography based solutions are being progressively integrated across Army networks - strengthening capabilities across domains and ensuring Indian Army remains future ready in ever evolving technological landscape. #Atmanirbharta #YearofTechAbsorption #DecadeofTransformation @DefenceMinIndia @SpokespersonMoD @HQ_IDS_India," it posted.

Junior engineering networking convocation held at Military College

Mhow: The convocation ceremony of Junior Engineer Network Engineering (JENE) course number 162 was held at the Military College of Telecommunication Engineering (MCTE) recently, where 99 non-commissioned officers of the Army were awarded a Diploma in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering from Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya (RGPV), Bhopal. The Faculty of Communication Engineering commander, Brigadier Deven Makhija, administered the engineer's pledge. In his valedictory address, Major General Mahajan complimented the officers for their performance during the course. He emphasised force modernisation, which is one of the thrust areas in all armies of the world today. He reminded the graduating officers about the importance of the man behind the machine and exhorted them to keep pace with the phenomenal boom of technology in the field of communications and information technology, and to always strive for excellence. An MCTE press release stated that the college has an impressive campus and laboratories for emerging technologies like 5G, AI, EM Spectrum Operations, Quantum Technology and VLSI. It is the only institution that provides training to military personnel in these specialised fields of information and communication technologies in the modern battlefield.
