Second Military Discipline Programme launched in Dhofar
SALALAH: The second edition of the Military Discipline Programme began on Sunday in Dhofar Governorate. Organised by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth, with support from various military and security agencies as well as other government institutions. More than 850 students from across the Sultanate of Oman participated in the programme. Running until August 6, the programme includes lectures on military discipline and organisation, first aid, teamwork, leadership techniques and military sciences, along with awareness sessions on various social topics. It also features diverse sports and scouting competitions. In addition, specialised workshops on citizenship, belonging, artificial intelligence and entrepreneurship aim to nurture modern leadership thinking and enhance the personal and community skills of participants. Following its remarkable success in its first edition last year, this year's programme continues with an expanded vision to shape a generation of Omani youth who are disciplined, aware and equipped with strong leadership qualities, a deep sense of national belonging and loyalty. Lieutenant Colonel Air Force Hussein bin Mohammed al Ajmi, Director of the Military Discipline Programme, highlighted the programme's focus on cognitive and behavioural development through integrated activities. Sayyid Theyazin flags off military discipline training for students
Muscat – H H Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham al Said, Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth, launched the second edition of the Military Discipline Programme for school students taking place in Dhofar from July 13 to August 6. The programme is overseen by Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth (MCSY) with support from various military, security and relevant government institutions. In a statement, H H Sayyid Theyazin said the programme aligns with national efforts to hone youth skills and channel their energies towards nation-building. This year, it targets 850 students from across Oman through an integrated training programme, focusing on reinforcing values of citizenship, identity and self-discipline via cultural and sports activities and training. H H Sayyid Theyazin affirmed that the programme reflects the objectives of Oman Vision 2040 in empowering Omani youth as a national priority and enhancing their active role in development. 'The success of the first edition – evident in the heightened awareness, discipline and responsibility among students – serves as strong motivation to further develop this second edition into a model training programme. It aims to prepare a generation capable of facing future challenges and contributing to the progress of our beloved nation,' H H Sayyid Theyazin stated. MCSY reaffirmed its commitment to initiatives that invest in youth potential and instil a spirit of dedication and belonging, supporting Oman's ongoing development and prosperity under the wise leadership of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik.
