2 people injured, 1 life-threatening, in multi-person shooting near Neponset River in Milton
Two men were injured, one of them life-threatening, in a shooting early Sunday morning in Milton, Massachusetts. Police said just before 4 a.m., they received a call reporting gunshots from a parking lot on Wharf Street near the Neponset River. One victim, a 21-year-old Boston man, was found at the scene and taken to a Boston hospital with life-threatening injuries. Sunday afternoon, Milton Police confirmed he remains hospitalized. Another victim, a 23-year-old Boston man, was found shortly afterward on Adams Street in Dorchester. He was taken to a Boston hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Police said they do no have any further confirmed victims from the shooting. No arrests have been made. Active crime scene after two people seriously hurt in Milton, State Police say
Massachusetts State Police say that two people were seriously hurt after a possible stabbing in Milton. Police say that around 7:35 PM, Troopers were dispatched to the area of 267 Blue Hills Parkway in Milton to reports of a possible stabbing. Once on the scene, troopers found two victims lying on the ground, suffering from serious injuries. As soon as the area was secured, State Police requested mutual aid from the Norfolk County Detectives Unit, Child Support Services Division, and a State Police chemist. A State Police K9 unit was also dispatched on scene, alongside assistance from the Milton Police Department. The scene remains active and under investigation. This is a developing story. Stop sticks used to end vehicle pursuit, man in custody
A vehicle pursuit ended with a man in custody after officers used stop sticks. [DOWNLOAD: Free WHIO-TV News app for alerts as news breaks] A Milton, Indiana, Police officer attempted to stop a vehicle in the 8100 block of U.S. 40 for driving at a high rate of speed around 11:26 a.m. on Tuesday. The vehicle left and led to a pursuit across part of Wayne County, according to a social media post. The suspect, Kevin Land, was taken into custody without incident, the department said. 'Today's incident is a reminder of our unwavering commitment to keep reckless drivers off the road,' said Marshal Tom Geiselman. 'I'm grateful this pursuit ended safely, and I sincerely thank every agency that responded without hesitation. This was a true team effort to protect our community.' Police: Three arrested for stealing 300 pieces of mail in Milton
Three people were arrested early Monday morning for allegedly stealing hundreds of pieces of mail. The three individuals, who Milton Police did not name, are charged with breaking and entering into a depository, receiving stolen, possession of burglarious instruments, and multiple motor vehicle violations. According to authorities, one suspect was taken into custody without incident while two others attempted to flee in a vehicle, but were quickly located. Police say both suspects ran away on foot and were eventually apprehended by Milton Police Patrol Units and a Massachusetts State Police K9 unit. Approximately 300 pieces of stolen mail, as well as stolen U.S. Postal Service property was recovered during the arrest process, according to police. All three suspects will be arraigned in Quincy District Court. 'We would like to thank the Massachusetts State Police for their assistance and remind the community to use caution when mailing personal checks,' Milton Police wrote in a social media post. 'Please remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity observed near mailboxes.'
