Ministers meet with Youth National Team, praise players' spirit
Sa'ada - Saba: Ministers of Youth and Sports Dr. Mohammed al-Muwalad and Transport and Public Works Mohammed Quhaim have met with national youth football team on during their training camp in the capital Sana'a in preparation for the Asian finals. The meeting, attended by other officials and university presidents, saw Dr. al-Muwalad express pride in the athletes representing a unified Yemen. He praised the team's high morale and highlighted the government's commitment to supporting the team's training and preparation. Minister Quhaim urged the players to strive for an honorable performance and achieve positive results, building on their previous successes. He noted that the Ministries of Transport, Youth, and Finance, following directives from Supreme Political Council member Mohammed Ali al-Houthi, are coordinating to arrange the team's air travel to Jeddah for an external training camp and participation in the Asian Cup finals. The Rector of Sa'ada University welcomed the team, emphasizing the importance of national youth unity and encouraging the players to embody the Yemeni people's determination. Team manager Abdullah al-Thuraiya thanked the Ministry for its support and assured that the team is progressing according to plan and is committed to delivering a strong performance. Iraq and Russia Strengthen Cooperation with New Agreements

The 10th meeting of the Iraqi-Russian Joint Committee was held in Baghdad this week, co-chaired by Iraq's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein and Russia's Minister of Energy Sergei Tsivilev. Hussein emphasized the longstanding ties between the two nations and the broad scope of cooperation, while Tsivilev reaffirmed Russia's commitment to expanding bilateral relations and invited Iraq to participate in upcoming conferences in Russia. During the meeting, both sides signed key agreements, including: A Maritime Transport Agreement between the Ministries of Transport. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for Health Cooperation between the Ministries of Health. An MoU between the Federation of Iraqi Chambers of Commerce and the Federation of Russian Chambers of Commerce and Industry. A Protocol of Understanding between Gazprom and Iraq's Midland [Middle] Oil Company (MdOC]. Hussein noted what he described as Iraq's " balanced " stance on the Russia-Ukraine conflict, calling for a ceasefire. He also highlighted upcoming international events in Iraq, including the Arab Summit, and stressed the importance of enhancing collaboration in sectors such as health and industry. The discussions included Iraq's oil exports from the Kurdistan Region to Turkey and Russia's continued investment in Iraq's oil sector, currently valued at approximately $19 billion.
