Libyan citizen Othman Al-Zaalouk released after detention in Istanbul
The Libyan Embassy in Turkey has confirmed a decision by the Minor Criminal Court in Istanbul to release Libyan citizen Othman Al-Zaalouk after more than a month of detention following a complaint filed by a Turkish woman who accused him of filming her daughter without permission inside a shopping mall.
The embassy explained in a statement that, based on the legal findings and technical expertise report of the competent court, the Minor Criminal Court No. (48) in Istanbul issued a decision to release citizen Othman Al-Zaalouk, stating that there were no other cases against him.
The embassy added that it had closely followed Al-Zaalouk's case from the outset, in coordination with the Consulate General and the assigned law firm, affirming its full commitment to protecting the rights of Libyan citizens and pursuing their legal cases in a manner that serves justice and fairness.
