Yii briefs attendees on the RTP projects implemented in the Pujut constituency.
MIRI (July 13): A total of 14 parks and recreational projects have been implemented under the Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) for the Pujut constituency between 2022 and 2024, amounting to RM3.6 million, said its assemblyman Mayor Adam Yii.
He added that the development of parks and recreational area had been one of his key priorities since taking office as an assemblyman, in efforts to promote healthy living and enhance community well-being.
'Parks and recreation are very important because we need to provide space for residents to exercise and relax,' he said.
He emphasised that particular attention had been given to ensuring neighbourhoods in his constituency are equipped with recreational spaces for the benefit of the residents.
Yii made the remarks during a briefing session and Minor Rural Project (MRP) handing-over ceremony, held at the Sarawak United People's Party (SUPP) Pujut service centre yesterday.
The projects, according to him, are located across three key zones in the constituency: Pujut, Piasau and Krokop.
'Sub-areas include Pujut Adong, Piasau Utara, Piasau Garden, Piasau Jaya, and several smaller areas within Krokop.
'The implemented projects include Pujut 2 walkway, Pocket Park Pujut, Pujut Adong New Pocket Park in the Pujut area.
'These include Piasau Utara futsal court, Piasau Utara football field and a football field toilet, Pocket Park in Jalan Piasau, Piasau Garden Walkway, Piasau Garden Stage, Piasau Jaya recreational park, and Piasau Jaya futsal court.
'For the Krokop area, the projects include Krokop Jaya basketball court, Krokop Yakin basketball court, and Krokop Rock Garden.'
Yii noted that only two projects were implemented within the Pujut area due to a shortage of available state land for development.
'While most of the projects have been completed, there are projects that will proceed for second and third phases,' he added.
