Tabu as antagonist in Puri Jagannadh-Vijay Sethupathi film?
Telugu director Puri Jagannadh is going through a low phase in his career, especially after delivering two back-to-back commercial failures with Liger and Double Ismart. But that has not stopped him from announcing new ventures. He has started a biggie featuring Vijay Sethupathi and Tabu in lead roles. It was earlier reported that a chunk of the shooting will happen in Chennai, with the rest to be canned in a specially-erected set in Hyderabad. Puri Jagannadh and Tabu A fan of Telugu shows? Puri Jagannadh is known to give strong roles to the women in his films, and he has at it yet again with Tabu in this as-yet-untitled venture. The actress will sport a new look in this film, it is said. This is not the first time that Tabu has done a negative role in her career. Even in the past, in films like Maqbool and Andhadhun, she played characters with grey shades. There is a decent buzz for this film in the trade circles. Vijay Sethupathi is one of the top stars, and whatever he does is always special. So, his collaboration with Puri Jagannadh has become a talking point all over, and everyone is eager to see what the director is up to with Vijay. Interestingly, in an earlier interview Vijay had said that he was not interested in doing a direct Telugu film soon. But when Puri narrated the story, he did not think twice, as he was excited by the script and said okay to the film. Samyuktha Menon bags a 'crazy' role in Vijay Sethupathi's next On the other hand, the yet-untitled film also has Samyuktha Menon as the female lead. She is also getting a major role that has been described as 'crazy'. Some key faces from Telugu cinema will be seen in key roles in this film, which will have a pan-India release. Puri is looking at a comeback to the good times with this film and wants to silence his critics. That is the reason he has roped in star performers like Tabu and Vijay Sethupathi. With Tabu now playing a character with grey shades, it will be very interesting to see how all this unfolds in the days to come.

Telugu actress Abhignya Vuthaluru, who made her debut with 'Her – Chapter 1' and 'Geetha Subramanyam: Season 3', also starred in the web series 'Miss Perfect', is now set to appear in the supernatural thriller 'Viraatapalem: PC Meena Reporting'. The series will premiere on June 27 on ZEE5 Global, which revolves around a chilling curse that looms over residents of a remote village known as Viraatapalem, where every bride mysteriously dies on her wedding day. For over decade, no marriage has taken place, and the once-thriving village is now home only to very young and the very old, crippled by fear and superstition. Abhignya Vutahluru On Pay Disparity Issue Abhignya Vuthaluru, who will be featuring for the first time as a lead actress in this series, spoke about the pay disparity issue between genders. The 30-year-old actress expressed her views on it and mentioned that it should be an 'equal pay system.' During a conversation with Abhignya said, ' This is something that I am yet to learn, because mujhe lagta hai ki pay disparity nahi honi chahiye, kyunki main agar ek taraf se ek energy laa rahi hoon, ladki ki tarah, ladke bhi jab aate hai, I am sure they also come with certain energy. Agar humara kaam ek hi level par ho raha hai energy ke hisaab se, then we all deserve equal pay, par recent interviews dekha jaye, market value bhi bata rahi ki ek bandi market value itna laati hai, you have to pay them larger .' (This is something that I am yet to learn. Because I feel that there should be no pay disparity. If our work is happening on the same level of energy, I think we all deserve equal pay. But if you look at recent interviews, market value is also showing that a girl brings so much market value. So, you have to pay them larger.) We Don't Put Female Actors On Pedestal Abhignya further continued and stated, ' So, I think as more than actors being questioned, I think we have to change all of us as a community, jaise hum bahut male actors ko celebrate karte hain, we don't put female actors on a pedestal, so rather than asking the actors may be agar hum community ke hisaab se equal ki tarah importance dein performances ko than genders, then automatically I think pay parity will lead. ' (So, I think as more than actors being questioned, I think we have to change all of us as a community, like we celebrate too many male actors, we don't put female actors on a pedestal, so rather than asking the actors may be if we as a community have equal importance dein performances than genders, then automatically I think pay parity will lead.)

Actor couple Varun Tej and Lavanya Tripathi are set to embrace parenthood. The couple announced they are expecting their first child on Tuesday with an Instagram post. The post featured actors holding each other's hands and a pair of infant shoes. "Life's most beautiful role yet - Coming soon," read the caption. Tripathi, 34 and Tej, 35, dated for five years before tying the knot in November 2023. Tej most recently featured in Matka alongside Meenakshi Chaudhary, the film released in 2024.
