The committee will contribute to building a flexible and forward-looking education system capable of meeting national development priorities and keeping pace with the rapid transformation of the global labour market. H.E. Dr. Al Awar said: 'At MoHESR, we believe that developing a successful and sustainable higher education system requires strong collaboration with national companies, the private sector, and research institutes. The formation of the committee is a testament to our commitment to adopting a participatory and integrated approach to shaping the future of higher education that enhances graduates' qualifications, builds their capacities, and prepares them to contribute to a competitive, knowledge-based economy. Its work will support our vision for a dynamic, responsive educational system that equips students with the skills required to lead our nation's journey of sustainable development.' He added: 'We continue to work closely with our partners in the public and private sectors to redesign the higher education system to be more agile, flexible, and closely linked to the needs of the economy, technology, and society. This approach will ensure that our graduates possess high-quality qualifications and advanced skills that match their ambitions while contributing to national progress.' The committee comprises a distinguished group of academic leaders from the UAE's higher education institutions (HEIs), alongside representatives of key economic sectors, including technology, industry, energy, health, tourism, and investment. MoHESR and ADEK will ensure Grade 11 and 12 students are registered in the Unified Registration and Admissions System. In addition to making early academic guidance available to students, the two partners will provide them and their parents with comprehensive information on admission requirements, university majors, and career pathways. They will also organise seasonal awareness campaigns and training workshops for academic advisors and ensure service effectiveness through continuous monitoring. Under this collaboration, applications from HEIs seeking to operate in Abu Dhabi will be reviewed, and licensing and accreditation processes will be aligned with both entities' regulations. This will balance streamlined procedures with quality assurance through data sharing, curriculum review, and regular updates on institutional information. The two parties will integrate and exchange institutional, student, and graduate data to ensure accurate, up-to-date information that supports planning, programme evaluation, and service improvement. They will also set up a clear data exchange mechanism, define update timelines, and prepare joint reports on key indicators, such as admission, enrolment, retention, and graduation rates. This will enable data-driven decision-making while ensuring full compliance with data governance, security policies, and relevant federal and local regulations. Partnering with ADEK is part of MoHESR's strategy to implement its redesigned student journey model that is based on simplification, integration, and transparency. UAE Launches Digital System to Verify Academic Qualifications for Employment

The UAE has unveiled a new digital system to verify academic qualifications, aiming to streamline employment procedures and enhance labour market integrity. Launched by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) in partnership with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MoHESR), the initiative marks a significant step in the country's push toward a fully integrated digital employment ecosystem. The Academic Qualification Verification Project allows private sector employers to verify academic credentials — whether issued locally or abroad — through MoHRE's digital platforms and service centres. The system supports skill levels 1 to 4 under the National Qualifications Framework and will eventually include UAE-issued degrees at a later stage. Officials say the project supports the UAE's broader digital transformation goals, reducing bureaucracy and improving service delivery across sectors. It also ensures the authenticity of qualifications, curbing fraudulent practices and enabling faster, more reliable hiring processes. Khalil Al Khoori, Undersecretary for Labour Market and Emiratisation Operations at MoHRE, said the system reinforces the UAE's efforts to attract global talent and boost its competitive edge in the employment sector. He noted that embedding the verification process within work permit procedures strengthens regulatory oversight and service efficiency. Dr. Mohammad Al Mualla, Undersecretary of MoHESR, emphasized that the initiative aligns academic output with labour market needs, supporting the national strategy to build a knowledge-based economy. He added that the service contributes to the Zero Government Bureaucracy programme by delivering fast, customer-centric solutions. By digitising verification, the project reduces paperwork, enables unified processing with a one-time fee, and promotes stronger collaboration between government and private sector entities — all while enhancing the UAE's appeal as a global investment and employment hub.
