Google Chrome Updates To Stop August 5 For 300 Million Android Users
Google confirms it will stop updateng Chrome for 300 million Android users in August. If there is one thing you can guarantee in life, other than death and taxes, it's that Google will update the Chrome web browser with alarming frequency to fight off attacks using newly discovered security vulnerabilities. That guarantee will disappear for an estimated 300 million Android users starting August 5. Here's what you need to know. 300 Million Android Devices To Not Longer Get Chrome Security Updates According to the latest estimates, 4% of the Android user base of 3.3 billion still use Android 8 and another 5.8% use Android 9. While the percentages might seem insignificant in the overall scheme of things, that's a combined total of more than 300 million devices. It's also 300 million devices that will no longer benefit from security updates for the Google Chrome browser from August 5. Ellen T, a Chrome support manager at Google, has now officially confirmed in a Google Chrome community posting, that 'Chrome 138 is the last version of Chrome that will support Android 8.0 and Android 9.0.' With Chrome 139 being expected to arrive on August 5, and requiring devices to be running Android 10.0 or later, this means that you will 'need to ensure your device is running Android 10.0 or later to continue receiving future Chrome releases,' Ellen T said. It's important to note that older versions of the Google Chrome web browser app will continue to work just fine on older Android smartphones and tablets. Assuming that your definition of just fine includes being open to attack by anyone armed with an exploit for the latest security vulnerabilities. Indeed, as time passes, and those security vulnerabilities become common knowledge, with exploits exchanged in criminal forums online, the threat will only increase for any users who have not either updated to a more recent operating system or switched to a different browser app. You know what to do, and the correct answer is most certainly not nothing. You have been warned.

Malaysia's new E-sports centre to open in 2026, says Adam Adli
A new e-sports centre under the Ministry of Youth and Sports (KBS) is on track to begin operations in 2026, Deputy Minister Adam Adli Abdul Halim announced today. Speaking after the closing ceremony of the ASEAN Youth E-Sports Championship (AEYSC) 2025 in Puchong, Adam Adli said tender processes are underway, with further details expected by September. 'This e-sports centre is not limited to just one component but can also function as a multipurpose hall. We aim to maximise resource utilisation,' he told reporters. The facility, located at KL Sports City in Bukit Jalil, was confirmed in December by Youth and Sports Minister Hannah Yeoh as a repurposed venue instead of a new stadium. Adam Adli also praised the success of AEYSC 2025, organised by the Malaysian Electronic Sports Federation (MESF), which brought together regional players and stakeholders. Despite featuring only *eFootball Mobile*, he expressed hope for future expansion. Indonesia dominated the tournament, securing all three gold medals in men's singles, women's singles, and mixed doubles. Malaysia claimed two silvers, while Thailand and Myanmar won one silver and three bronzes combined.

The Trump Mobile T1 Phone is not made in America, specs quietly changed
In a revelation that shouldn't surprise anyone, it is now clear that the Trump Mobile T1 Phone will not be made in America. We do find it a little bit surprising that it's not even the same phone... wait, what? First things first, the official page for the phone used to proclaim that it is 'proudly designed and built in the United States'. It no longer says that. The phone is now described as being 'Designed with American values in mind' and as having an 'American-Proud Design'. However, the place of its origin is vague to put it mildly: 'The T1 Phone isn't just powerful—it's brought to life right here in the USA. With American hands behind every device, we bring care, precision, and trusted quality to every detail.' Not to throw any shade, but this has strong 'Designed in California' vibes, which is what Apple used to write on the backs of iPhones – even though not a single iPhone was ever built in California or any other US state. Appearances matter. Anyway, we didn't expect any different. But the Trump Mobile T1 Phone seems to have shrunk while we weren't looking – it was originally announced as having a 6.78' AMOLED display. Now the official specs claim a 6.25' display. Also, the RAM capacity has been deleted. The battery is the same (5,000mAh, 20W charging) and the price is the same ($500). Before and after: the official Trump Mobile T1 Phone page Presumably, Trump Mobile switched to a different ODM as the shipping date slipped back – the original rollout was planned for August or September, now the page just says 'later this year'.
