Former Indian minister Fatmi highlights power of education, innovation in Doha

The Aligarh Muslim University Alumni Association Qatar (AMUAAQ), under the aegis of the Indian Embassy and ICBF, hosted an interactive discussion on 'Adapting to Change: How Education and Skill Development Can Drive Business Innovation and Success' on July 19, 2025, at Alpha Training Centre, Doha.
Held as part of Sir Syed Day 2025 – One Team, One Dream, the event featured Mohammad Ashraf Ali Fatmi, former Union Minister of State for HRD and AMU alumnus, as the keynote speaker. Fatmi reflected on his Aligarh days, the university's legacy, and the power of education and skills in shaping future-ready societies.
The programme began with Quran recitation by Osama Samsi. AMUAAQ Vice President Mohammed Faisal Naseem welcomed attendees, and Chairman Jawed Ahmad highlighted the relevance of the discussion. The event was anchored by Hasan Badar.
Fatmi was felicitated by AMUAAQ's executive team and community leaders. The evening concluded with a Q&A session and announcements about AMUAAQ's upcoming events, including a blood donation camp on August 15 and Sir Syed Day celebrations on October 17.
