2 foreigners arrested after fight, one found handcuffed
SUNGAI BULOH: Two foreign men were arrested following a brawl in Kampung Baru Subang here.
One of the suspects was already handcuffed when police apprehended him.
Sungai Buloh District Police Chief Superintendent Mohd Hafiz Mohd Norin a statement today said the District Control Centre (DCC) received an emergency call at 1.15pm yesterday about a fight at Jalan Dinar, Taman Subang Perdana.
"A patrol unit was immediately despatched to the scene, where both suspects, aged 26 and 32, were detained.
"One of them was found inside a vehicle with handcuffs on his wrist," he said.
Hafiz said police also seized a pair of handcuffs and two Myvi cars from both the suspects and took them back to the headquarters for questioning.
"The case is being investigated under multiple legal provisions, including Section 160 of the Penal Code for committing affray, Section 170 of the Penal Code for impersonating a public servant and Section 89 of the Police Act 1967 for possessing police equipment without permission," he said.
He said the suspects would also be investigated under Section 6(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63 for entering or staying in Malaysia without valid documents, which carries a sentence of up to five years' imprisonment, a fine not exceeding RM10,000, or both, including the possibility of up to six strokes of the cane.
Police have urged the public not to speculate on the incident and encouraged anyone with information to come forward.
