Phulpur minor abducted, taken to Kerala in alleged Jihad plot; 2 held
PRAYAGRAJ A 15-year-old girl from Phulpur area in Prayagraj district was allegedly taken to Kerala by her neighbour and forcibly converted before being linked to a terror organisation, police said on Monday. The girl, belonging to a Scheduled Caste, was rescued on June 28 from Thrissur railway station after she managed to alert her mother through the local police. (Sourced) Deputy commissioner of police (DCP) (Trans Yamuna) Kuldeep Singh Gunawat said, 'Two accused, Daraksha Bano from Lilhat village in Phulpur, and her associate Kaif, have been arrested in connection with the abduction and forced religious conversion of a minor. There is preliminary evidence of links to terrorist organisations. Further investigations are underway to identify and arrest other gang members, including a man identified as Mohammad Taj.' He added that three police teams are working in coordination with central intelligence agencies to explore possible inter-state and organisational connections in the case. According to officials, the girl disappeared from her home on the night of May 8. Investigations revealed that she was taken on a motorbike by Daraksha and Kaif to Prayagraj Junction. The girl was then taken by train to Delhi and later to Thrissur in Kerala. In Kerala, police say, she was introduced to a group of suspicious individuals. She was allegedly lured with money and converted to Islam. Police further claimed that she was coerced into associating with a terrorist outfit under the pretext of 'jihad'. On June 28, the girl managed to flee and reached the Thrissur railway station, where she sought help from local police. With their assistance, she contacted her mother in Uttar Pradesh. A police team from Phulpur subsequently travelled to Kerala and brought her back. She is currently staying at a One Stop Centre in Prayagraj. Meanwhile, the girl's mother has reportedly received threats from unidentified persons warning her against approaching law enforcement. Security personnel have been deployed at the family's home.

Religious conversion racket busted: 2 held for taking minor dalit girl to Kerala; lured her with money
PRAYAGRAJ: In a major development, Phulpur police on Monday arrested two persons including a woman allegedly involved in enticing poor girls from Dalit families and further taking them to Kerala for religious conversion. The arrested persons were identified as Kahkasha Bano (19) and Mohd Kaif (25), residents of Lilhat village. DCP (Ganga Nagar) Kuldeep Singh told TOI that a woman Guddi Devi of Lilhat village on June 28 approached Phulpur police and alleged that Kahkasha Bano and one another had on May 8 managed to entice her 15-year-old daughter on the pretest of money and further took her to Kerala for religious conversion. "When cops came to know about the development, a police team led by ACP (Phulpur) carried out detailed investigations and found that Kahkasha Bano had allegedly taken the minor Dalit girl to Kerala for religious conversion, " DCP said. "Investigations revealed that Kahkasha Bano had called up one Mohd Kaif to drop both of them at Prayagraj junction on May 8 and they first took a train for Delhi and then Kerala". It was also alleged that Mohd Kaif had misbehaved with the girl and made an abortive bid to outrage her modesty,' DCP added. After reaching Trichoor, the minor girl noticed anti-national activities being carried out by a group of miscreants who too enticed her for lucrative offers to change her religion and involved herself in anti-national activities. The girl, however, managed to escape from their clutches and reached Trichoor railway narrated her woes to police who then contacted the family members in Prayagraj. The girl was handed over to the child welfare committee in Trichur till she was brought back to Prayagraj by family members. DCP, meanwhile, said that three police teams have been constituted to crack down the racket involved in enticing poor Dalit girl families and taking them to Kerala for religious conversion. He added that cops are probing the network of an organized racket of miscreants taking poor people to Kerala for religious conversions. The girl was kept at one stop centre Prayagraj.
