Maake police launch manhunt after prisoner escape
LIMPOPO – Maake Police have launched a manhunt for 29-year-old Mola Matome Reuben Modiba, who escaped from police custody on Monday afternoon (June 30).
Modiba was awaiting trial in connection with a burglary at a residential property, reported in April this year.
He had just been formally charged by a detective when he allegedly fled while being escorted back to the holding cells.
The circumstances surrounding the escape are currently under investigation. A specialised team of detectives has been appointed to track down the fugitive.
Authorities have urged members of the public not to approach Modiba if spotted, as he may pose a risk to their safety.
