WWE Announces Massive SummerSlam Match
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. A massive tag team match has been made official for WWE SummerSlam. Following a chaotic brawl on Monday Night Raw, Roman Reigns will team with his cousin, Jey Uso, to take on the powerhouse duo of Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed. The match was made official through a series of social media posts, culminating in Paul Heyman accepting the challenge on behalf of his clients via a TMZ article. This bout adds a deeply personal story of family and betrayal to the already stacked SummerSlam card. The Challenge Is Made Official The conflict ignited on the July 21st episode of Monday Night Raw. After a heated in-ring confrontation between Roman Reigns and his former manager, Paul Heyman, Breakker and Reed attacked Reigns. Jey Uso then rushed to the ring to save his cousin, leading to a massive brawl that ended with Reigns and Uso standing tall. Following the show, Reigns took to social media to issue a challenge for a tag team match at SummerSlam. Jey Uso quickly accepted, and Heyman, speaking to TMZ, made the match official, telling Reigns to pick which night of the two-night event he wants the match on. A Family Reunited Against A Common Enemy The reunion of Roman Reigns and Jey Uso is a shocking and emotional development in a story that has spanned years. For much of his historic championship reign, Reigns was a tyrannical "Tribal Chief" who tormented and manipulated his cousin. This led to Jey Uso being the first to break away from The Bloodline, sparking a "civil war" that saw them face each other in a brutal "Tribal Combat" match at SummerSlam 2023. Reigns' recent return to WWE television has seen a change in his demeanor. His decision to save Jey Uso on Raw and fight alongside him appears to have healed the deep wounds between the two family members, uniting them against a common enemy. Heyman's New Empire That common enemy is Paul Heyman. After shockingly betraying Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 41, the "Wise Man" has assembled a new force on Raw. He has taken the explosive Bron Breakker and the colossal Bronson Reed under his wing, unleashing them on his former client's allies. WWE star shows off Bohemians Oasis jersey in front of millions of people
WWE star Sami Zayn was the latest high-profile figure to wear a Bohemians jersey and showed it off in front of millions. The popular wrestler returned to action on Monday and did so with a splash as he wore the Oasis-inspired Bohemians jersey. And with Netflix now broadcasting Monday Night Raw, the jersey would have been seen by millions. Although Zayn could well be a surprise long-time Bohemians fan, it is more likely that he was gifted the jersey by Gypsies die-hard and fellow WWE Superstar Sheamus. The Finglas native is a long-time fan of the Phibsborough outfit and has been on hand to lend his support to the club on different occasions. For Bohemians, it represents great publicity for the club and its limited edition strip. The fan-owned club teamed up with Oasis ahead of the reunion tour, with half of the profits raised from the Oasis shirt going to charity, with a split between Music Generation Ireland and Irish Community Care Manchester, while the other half goes to the club itself. The League of Ireland club has made waves internationally with its kit choices. Previously, it had jerseys with Thin Lizzy, Bob Marley, and Fontaines DC branding. It has also teamed up with Guinness in the past and had a Dublin Bus-themed jersey. Oasis comes to Ireland next month, and their reunion tour is currently in full swing. The Gallagher brothers have played two sold-out shows in Cardiff and five shows in Manchester's Heaton Park. Focus now turns to London, where they will perform five sold-out Wembley Stadium Shows before heading north to Murrayfield, where they will perform three times before heading over to Dublin. After that, things go further afield with shows all across North America and then east towards South Korea, Japan, and Australia. As for Zayn, his colleagues will be in Ireland next month for a live recording of WWE SmackDown.

Roman Reigns Breaks Character After WWE Raw
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Roman Reigns and Jey Uso shared a special, character-breaking moment after the July 21st episode of Monday Night Raw went off the air. The two cousins, who have a long and violent on-screen history, came together for a lighthearted celebration with the live crowd in a non-televised segment. The moment quickly went viral on social media. It showed a side of "The Tribal Chief" that fans rarely get to see. OTC just hit the YEET! 🙌 — WWE (@WWE) July 22, 2025 "The Tribal Chief" Starts "Yeeting" After the broadcast ended, Jey Uso was in the ring doing his signature "YEET!" celebration with the fans in attendance. He then noticed Roman Reigns looking on from the corner and encouraged his cousin to join him. Although Reigns looked hesitant at first, he eventually smiled and climbed to the middle rope. He then joined Jey in the "YEET!" chant, drawing a massive ovation from the surprised and delighted crowd. After the celebration, the two shared a hug before leaving the ring. The moment was a huge hit online. Reigns himself responded to the viral video on Instagram with a humorous, one-line caption, joking, "Definitely A.I.!" WWE/Getty Images A Long And Complicated History The off-air moment was especially significant for fans who have followed the complex, multi-year story between Roman Reigns and Jey Uso. Their on-screen relationship has been the central pillar of the entire Bloodline saga, seeing them go from bitter rivals in a classic "I Quit" Hell in a Cell match to Jey reluctantly serving as Roman's "Right Hand Man." More news: WWE News: Steve Austin Reveals Real-Life Vince McMahon Confrontation Their story eventually led to Jey being the first to stand up to Roman, sparking the Bloodline Civil War in 2023. This culminated in a deeply personal "Tribal Combat" match at SummerSlam that year. Their history is filled with emotional and physical turmoil, which is why seeing them share a genuinely happy moment, even in a non-canon setting, was so special for the live audience. A Tale Of Two Paths The post-show segment was a fun break from their current, very different on-screen trajectories. Since breaking away from The Bloodline, "Main Event" Jey Uso has become one of the most popular babyfaces on the Raw roster, with his "YEET!" catchphrase becoming a phenomenon. Roman Reigns, meanwhile, made his own shocking return at Night of Champions in June after a multi-month hiatus. He has re-established himself as the dominant, serious "Tribal Chief" and is currently locked in a feud with John Cena, heading towards a blockbuster main event at SummerSlam. While their on-screen paths may not be aligned, the dark segment was a reminder of the real-life family bond that has made their storyline so compelling. WWE Abruptly Splits Up Popular Tag Team
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. The WWE tag team of A-Town Down Under is officially over. On the July 21st episode of Monday Night Raw, Grayson Waller announced that his partner, Austin Theory, has suffered an injury and that their team is finished, before delivering a scathing promo on social media. This split brings an end to a partnership that has been teased with dissension for well over a year. Waller made it clear he has no sympathy for his now-former partner. Waller's Scathing Message Following the on-screen announcement, Grayson Waller took to social media to send a direct and insulting message to the injured Austin Theory. He claimed that he "saved" Theory's career and that their partnership was a waste of his own time. "You should be celebrating the fact that Big G, Grayson Waller, saved Austin Theory's career," Waller began. "Remember two years ago when John Cena buried him alive on Monday Night Raw, I watch it all the time, it's one of my favorite Raw moments of all time. Imagine where he'd be without Grayson Waller." More news: WWE News: Steve Austin Reveals Real-Life Vince McMahon Confrontation He continued, "I just wasted two years of my career making you relevant, and now that that's done, I can finally remind everyone just who Grayson Waller is." During their verbal confrontation, John Cena brutally ran down Austin Theory, questioning his authenticity and telling him that the fans did not care about him. Many fans and critics believe the promo was so harsh that it legitimately stalled Theory's momentum as a rising star. Waller is now using this famous moment as the foundation for his new rivalry with Theory. He claims that by teaming with him, he gave Theory a WrestleMania moment by winning the tag team titles and made him relevant again. A Partnership Built On Tension The breakup of A-Town Down Under has been a long time coming. The team of two arrogant heels was formed in 2023, and while they found success, there was always underlying tension. They captured the SmackDown Tag Team Championship at WrestleMania 40 in a chaotic six-pack ladder match. Throughout their reign and in the months since, WWE has consistently teased a split. The two would often argue, show jealousy towards one another, and accidentally cost each other matches. Now, with Theory on the shelf with an undisclosed injury, Waller has used the opportunity to officially end the partnership on his own brutal terms. When Theory eventually returns, a heated feud between the two former champions is inevitable. More WWE News: For more on WWE, head to Newsweek Sports

Roman Reigns Receives Big Offer Ahead Of WWE Summerslam. This Happens Next
Days ahead of Summerslam 2025, Roman Reigns declined Paul Heyman's proposal to join his new faction comprising of Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed, who seek new leadership in the absence of Seth Rollins. Rollins, who currently holds the men's Money in the Bank contract, seemingly injured his ankle during his match against LA Knight at WWE Saturday Night's Main Event earlier this month. However, it is not clear whether Rollins is actually injured as multiple reports have claimed that it might be a production masterclass from the WWE. On the penultimate Monday Night Raw (Tuesday IST) before Summerslam, Reigns went face-to-face with Heyman, who betrayed him, along with Breakker and Reed beside him. The former wiseman, uncharacteristically emotional, told Reigns he still loved his Tribal Chief and believed they could "fix this" together. Reigns, however, wasn't having any of it as he called Heyman a fool, thus rejection his offer to align with Breakker and Reed. The OTC also warned Breakker that Heyman would turn on him just like he did to him and others in the past. "You're not a Wiseman anymore you're just a dumba**," said Reigns. He also accused Heyman of ruining The Bloodline, while also acknowledging the likes of The Usos, Solo Sikoa, and Sami Zayn for helping him throughout his historic title reign. He once again called Heyman a dumba**. The OTC has SPOKEN! — WWE (@WWE) July 22, 2025 A furious Breakker took the mic told Reigns that he is the new top dog in WWE and asked him to do what he does best, "walk away". Reigns calmly handed the mic to Breakker before smashing him with a cheeky Superman Punch, followed by a trademark spear. Reigns tried to deal with both Breakker and Reed at the same time, but the numbers began to overwhelm him. As Reed was about to hit him with a Tsunami, Jey Uso's music hit and he charged to the ring to help out his cousin. The former WWE World Heavyweight Champion hit both Breakker and Reed with a superkick each, allowing Reigns to regroup. Together, they hit dual spears Jey taking out Breakker while Roman crashed into Reed leaving Heyman's faction laid out. When it Reigns, it SPEARS! — WWE (@WWE) July 22, 2025 Reigns was also grooving to the "YEET" chants after he and Jey took out Breakker and Reed.
