'Miracle' hair oil transforms 'straw-like' locks in just one use

'I don't think my hair has ever felt this soft, without question this is the best thing I have ever used' While the recent spell of warm weather has been enjoyable, it can cause chaos for those of us with textured or unruly hair, turning our usually manageable tresses into something akin to Monica Geller's infamous 'humidity hair' from Friends. However, shoppers reckon they've found the ultimate answer in a £17.38 'miracle oil' that promises to 'control frizz for up to 96 hours'. The solution comes in the form of Wella Professionals' brand new Ultimate Smooth range, designed to 'smooth and nourish the hair from the inside out'. The four-step haircare system includes a shampoo, conditioner, mask, and its standout product - the Miracle Oil Serum. This serum is a leave-in treatment designed to control frizz for days on end, deliver 85% smoother hair, and protect strands against heat up to 230°C from styling tools as well as UV exposure. It's packed with squalane and omega-9, skincare-inspired ingredients that moisturise the hair cuticle while polishing the hair surface, creating a lightweight, protective barrier. The vegan formula can be easily applied to either damp or dry hair and features a long-lasting, luxurious scent with notes of citrus, floral, and amber, reports the Manchester Evening News. The oil serum is being hailed for delivering 'silk-like results' in those with the 'driest' of hair, with some users dubbing it the 'best ever' product for transforming their 'straw-like' tresses. Wella's Miracle Oil Serum has quickly amassed a slew of five-star ratings, even as a newcomer on the beauty scene. One enthusiast said: "Great packaging, smells divine. If you thought your hair was smooth? Try this and will not regret it as hair becomes extra smooth, will smell fabulous. It becomes sleek and more manageable." Another customer, plagued by extremely dry and frizzy hair, was similarly wowed, exclaiming: "I have the driest, frizziest hair possible, think straw, especially from mid length to ends. This was only delivered today, so I had to use it as soon as I got out of the shower, wow just wow. "I don't think my hair has ever felt this soft, without question this is the best thing I have ever used, and trust me when I say I've spent a fortune on products over the years. I'm about to order another one, or maybe two, so I never run out." However, the serum didn't win over everyone, as one reviewer felt it was too dense for their locks, especially by day's end. They remarked: "I think this miracle oil serum is good, and it definitely helps calm down the frizz, however I feel it is a little too heavy for my hair and at the end of the day it feels a lot greasier than it would have done without the product. "I have tried using a lesser amount, but the product then doesn't work as well. I would definitely recommend this but be prepared that you may need to wash your hair again the following day." On the flip side, some are hailing it as an essential addition to their handbag. One user enthused: "This really does do exactly what it says and smoothes my hair out in seconds. I love using this when I've styled my hair and also keep it in my handbag as an essential for any particularly frizzy days as this smooths instantly." It's clear that not every product will be a perfect match for all. Luckily, there's a plethora of hair oils and serums available catering to different hair types. For instance, Olaplex No. 7 Bonding Oil might be a great alternative, currently on offer for £19.55, reduced from £28 at Beauty Bay. This featherlight oil aims to mend damaged hair while boosting shine and taming frizz. It's free from silicones, ideal for chemically treated tresses, and particularly beneficial for fine hair that requires repair without weight. For those with curly hair, Only Curls ' new Shine and Define Finishing Serum is available for £22 and promises to smooth and define curls without the typical heaviness of some oils. In other news, the L'Oréal Professionnel Serie Expert Absolut Repair 10 in 1 Leave in Oil is designed for individuals with dry, damaged hair. This quick-absorbing oil utilises wheat germ to deeply hydrate, enhance shine and gloss, while working to minimise the appearance of split ends and flyaways. Currently, it's on offer for £26.29, reduced from £29.10 at LookFantastic. The Wella Miracle Oil Serum is also on sale, along with the rest of the range while using the 20% discount code FLASH on LookFantastic. The smaller 30ml bottle of the serum - perfect for getting acquainted with the product - is usually £22 but is now down to £17.38, while the larger 100ml bottle is £35.60 (20 percent off its usual £44 price tag). The shampoo, conditioner and hair mask are also discounted, priced at £18.52, £20.60 and £24.20 respectively. For better value, there's the Wella Professionals Care Exclusive Ultimate Smooth Bundle with Bag, which includes the shampoo, conditioner and oil for £68.90, saving customers £20 off the retail price. Handily, it comes in a clear, zippable bag that's ideal for taking on holiday.

5 recipes from Monica Geller's kitchen that you can easily try at home

Image credits: Pinterest If there's one fictional character that has made every man and woman want to become a cooking queen or maybe just get a chance to gorge on some delicious recipes, it's definitely Monica Geller from Friends. The perfectionist who many related to, the one who wanted to fall in love, the mother of the group and definitely the feeder of the group too- Monica was one character that we along with Chandler Bing couldn't help but fall in love with. If you have been on a rewatching spree or want to recreate some of those unique recipes she made in the show, below are five easy recipes from Monica Geller's kitchen that you can follow. Candy from 'The One With All the Candy' Image credits: Pinterest Many describe Monica's famous candies as a perfect combination of caramel and chocolate and an easy recipe to make. Combine 60 g of water, 155 g of light corn syrup and 400 g of granulated sugar in a cooking pan and cook till it reaches 320 degrees Fahrenheit. Now, shut off the heat and start streaming in the mixture with 230 g of butter mixed with 230 g of cream. Cook the mixture again up to 240-245 degrees Fahrenheit. Let it cool down for at least six hours in a shaped pan covered with parchment paper and then cut the caramel into candy shapes. Now, temper some chocolate and dip the caramel candies in it. Don't forget to top off the candies with little flakes of salt. Mac and Cheese from 'The One with Mac and C.H.E.E.S.E.' Image credits: Pinterest You need 1/4 cup of butter, 2 cups of cheddar cheese, 1/2 cup of bread crumbs, 1/2 cup of parmesan cheese, 3 oz of elbow macaroni, 3 cups of milk, some paprika and 2 1/2 tbsp flour. In a pan, add the butter, flour and milk and stir. Then add the cheddar and parmesan cheese and cook until it thickens into a sauce. In a baking pan add the macaroni and pour the sauce over it and top it all off with a sprinkling of bread crumbs and paprika. Bake at 35o degrees Fahrenheit for 30 minutes and enjoy! Break-up Jam from 'The One With The Jam' Image credits: Pinterest Who knew the best way to get over a break-up was to make some delicious jam? Monica! Take 2lbs of strawberries, 4 cups of white sugar, and 1/4 cup of lemon juice. Mash the strawberries and cook them in a pan with white sugar and lemon juice and stir and boil until 220 degrees Fahrenheit. Let the mixture cool, transfer it into jars and refrigerate. Brown Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies from 'The One with the Cooking Class' Image credits: YouTube/Friends Chop 140g salted butter and heat it in a saucepan over medium-low heat. Once it turns brown and smells nutty, transfer it into a bowl and let it cool for 20-30 minutes. Add 215g of all-purpose flour to a bowl, add 1/2 tbsp of baking soda, mix and set aside. Add 145g brown sugar and 65g caster sugar to the cooled-down brown butter and mix till combined. Add 1 large egg and 1 tbsp milk to the mix. Now add the flour and mix. Add some chopped chocolate to the cookie dough and refrigerate for 1.5 hours. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit and bake the cookies for 8-10 minutes. Lasagna from 'The One with the Dozen Lasagnas' Image credits: Pinterest Of course, we saved the best for last. If you had told Monica to make vegetarian lasagnas then she would have made them, but for now, you need to try this not-so-vegetarian recipe. Take 1lb of ground beef, add 4 cups of marinara sauce and mix. In another bowl take 4 cups whole milk ricotta cheese, 2 cups of parmesan cheese, 1 tbsp of parsley, 1/4th cup basil, 1 tsp of kosher salt,1/2 tbsp black pepper, 2 tbsp olive oil, and mix. Take a lasagne baking pan and add some beef sauce into it and layer with cooked lasagne noodles, layer this with the cheese mix and some shredded mozzarella cheese on top. Repeat this until both the bowls are finished and then bake the lasagne at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 25-30 minutes. Next, broil it for 1-2 minutes and serve.
