Entertainment Firms Oak View, Legends Face DOJ Antitrust Probe
The US Justice Department has been investigating whether live entertainment companies Oak View Group LLC and Legends colluded over bidding to develop a large arena in Texas, according to people familiar with the matter. The criminal antitrust probe is focused on whether the companies illegally coordinated on the bidding to develop and operate the Moody Center, a $338 million arena at the University of Texas at Austin, said the people, who asked not to be identified discussing a confidential investigation. Oak View ultimately won the contract in 2018 and the venue opened in 2022. Legends isn't involved in the project.

Create Account Just weeks after he was fired and then rehired by the British rockers ahead of their farewell tour, the veteran drummer has been dumped again, this time presumably for good. 'After many years of great work on drums from Zak the time has come for a change,' co-founder and lead guitarist Pete Townshend, 80, wrote in an Instagram message . 'A poignant time. Zak has lots of new projects in hand and I wish him the best.' Townshend announced that drummer Scott Devours, who has also played with lead singer Roger Daltrey on his solo shows, will replace Starkey. Starkey was turfed last month after a representative for the band told various media outlets, including Rolling Stone and The Guardian , that The Who 'made a collective decision to part ways with' Starkey after they were unhappy with his playing during a charity gig at London's Royal Albert Hall. 'After playing those songs with the band for so many decades, I'm surprised and saddened anyone would have an issue with my performance that night,' the drummer shared in a statement with Rolling Stone , 'but what can you do?' But just days after unceremoniously firing Starkey, who is the son of Beatles drummer Ringo Starr, The Who brought him back. 'News Flash! Who Backs Zak!' Townshend wrote in an Instagram post on the band's official page. 'He's not being asked to step down from The Who. There have been some communication issues, personal and private on all sides, that needed to be dealt with, and these have been aired happily,' Townshend added. 'Roger and I would like Zak to tighten up his latest evolved drumming style to accommodate our non-orchestral lineup and he has readily agreed.' In his initial message, Townshend said Starkey's firing 'blew up very quickly and got too much oxygen,' but he pledged they would 'move forward now with optimism and fire in our bellies.' But in a message attributed to both Daltrey and Townshend, the band said that they'd had another change of heart and were freeing Starkey up to permanently pursue other projects as they cut ties with him for a second time. 'The Who are heading for retirement, whereas Zak is 20yrs younger and has a great future with his new band and other exciting projects,' Daltrey and Townshend wrote. 'He needs to devote all his energy into making it all a success. We both wish him all the luck in the world.' 'I was fired two weeks after reinstatement and asked to make a statement saying I had quit The Who to pursue my other musical endeavours,' Starkey, 59, wrote in an Instagram post. 'This would be a lie.' Starkey added that deciding to quit the band 'would also have let down the countless amazing people who stood up for me (thank you all a million times over and more) thru the weeks of mayhem of me going in an out an in an out an in an out like a bleedin' squeezebox.' The longtime musician acknowledged he has other projects on the go, but said that he has juggled his commitments to The Who with his other projects ever since joining the band in 1996. Lorde announces ‘Ultrasound' World Tour is coming to NYC—what you need to know
Lorde made headlines two weeks ago when she made a surprise appearance at Washington Square Park to debut her newest single, "What Was That." Shortly after, the singer announced that her next album, Virgin, would be released on June 27, shocking fans who haven't heard much from the New Zealand-born superstar since 2021 (with the exception of her iconic collab with Charli XCX for Brat last year). If you grew up in the 2010s, then this is some major news—Lorde's music was the soundtrack of an entire generation of young millennials and zillenials, starting with the massive success of "Royals" in 2013, followed by her debut album Pure Heroine and, later, 2017's Melodrama. This week, Lorde announced that Virgin will come with an accompanying world tour. Here's everything we know about the tour so far, including when the performer is planning to return to NYC for concert dates. When is the Ultrasound world tour? Lorde's latest tour will kick off in North America this September. The first show will take place on September 17 at the Moody Center in Austin before continuing on to Chicago, Columbus, Boston and Philadelphia before arriving at Manhattan's own Madison Square Garden. What are the NYC dates? Lorde will be in New York for one night only! Her MSG concert will take place on Wednesday, October 1. When do tickets go on sale? Presale tickets will go live on Wednesday, May 14 at 10am Eastern Standard Time. You can go ahead and set a reminder for yourself here! Who is supporting Lorde? Throughout her 2025 tour, Lorde will receive support from Blood Orange, the Japanese House, Nilüfer Yana, Chanel Beads, Empress Of, Jim-E Stack and Oklou. We don't yet know who will join her at Madison Square Garden—it'll likely be a surprise, but we're pretty sure it's going to be someone iconic. Where else can you see the tour? After New York, Lorde will be off to D.C. and later to Los Angeles and Berkeley in California. Her European leg of the "Ultrasound" tour will start on November 10 in Paris, before she goes on to Manchester, London and other parts of the UK. The tour will end in Poland on December 6.
