(Video) BLACKPINK Lisa To Appear In Netflix's Upcoming Reality Series 'Hitmakers'
Before BLACKPINK reunited to prepare for their upcoming DEADLINE tour, each member had been busy with solo projects. Lisa (리사), in addition to promoting her 'Alter Ego' album, also appeared in the third season of 'The White Lotus', playing the sweet, innocent hotel staff member, Mook. But that wasn't her only television venture, apparently. Fans were surprised to learn that the K-pop idol has also taken part in an upcoming Netflix reality series titled 'Hitmakers'. Here's what we know about the show so far: Yesterday (Wednesday, 25th June), Netflix released the official teaser for its upcoming unscripted reality music series 'Hitmakers'. The show will feature 12 of the industry's top songwriters and producers competing for the chance to create chart-topping hits for today's biggest artists. Among those featured in the trailer are John Legend, Shaboozey, and BLACKPINK's Lisa. The K-pop idol appears briefly in the teaser, seemingly video calling the contestants. The trailer quickly went viral on social media, particularly among K-pop and BLACKPINK fans, many of whom were surprised to see her involvement in the show. Some fans were excited to see her next project, praising Lisa for keeping herself booked and busy. Others, however, were puzzled by her decision to join the show, speculating that she may have minimal screen time, likely appearing only during consultation and the winner selection. It's currently unclear when the series was filmed, so there's no indication whether any of the songs composed by the contestants made it onto Lisa's 'Alter Ego' album or if they'll be saved for a future solo project. Regardless, one thing is for sure: Lisa is an artist who knows what she wants and based on previous hit releases, especially her collabs, her next solo album will likely be even better. BLACKPINK's Lisa reportedly got 55 million KRW per episode for The White Lotus Season 3, fans say 'too much for a cameo'
K-pop star Lisa made a memorable debut in the acting sphere with HBO's The White Lotus Season 3. Her portrayal of Mook, a sly and manipulative hotelier of a Thai hotel, earned widespread acclaim. The global success of the show's first two seasons likely drove up fees for the cast of the third instalment. However, rumors about Lisa's alleged per-episode earning sparked online debate among fans, given her relatively limited screen time. Did Lisa get paid 55 million KRW paycheck per episode for The White Lotus Season 3? The White Lotus Season 3 showcased Lisa 's acting talents, and her fans thoroughly enjoyed it. Bagging a role in the popular Hollywood show is quite a big deal and the BLACKPINK member did it as a first-timer. This made the series' fans curious to know how she got casted for the role and what her fees might be. As per a recent post made by the X (formerly Twitter) account Buzzing Pop, Lisa received 5,52,22,800 KRW (40,000 USD) per episode. Check out fan reactions to Lisa's 55 million KRW paycheck for The White Lotus Season 3 According to the series' viewers, the Rockstar singer has too short of a screen-time to be offered a payment as much as 55 million KRW. They sarcastically commented on how easy it was for a "talentless celebrity" to do "nothing", yet received a good amount. They alleged that it was "too much for a cameo which barely had lines or screentime.. Other actors deserve better." However, her fans quickly rallied to her defence. As per them, all the main cast of the show received the same amount and Lisa made even more from her singing career and her entrepreneurship than what she received through her The White Lotus Season appearance. They also stressed on her global status, which led to the show gaining even more traction. Her being a Thai national and promoting the show well in both her home country and overseas, added to the show's popularity, as per the K-pop artist's fans. Regardless of the debate over her pay, Lisa's scenes generated significant buzz despite her limited screen time.

Millcreek police chief: Man threw hammer at officers, had other weapon before he was shot
Two Millcreek Township police officers who responded to a sprawling apartment complex near Peach Street on May 11 to investigate reports of a man with hammers smashing car windows encountered the suspect in a parking lot. The man confronted the officers and threw a hammer at them, Millcreek Police Chief Carter Mook said. Then the man displayed another weapon, he said. As the man continued toward the officers, according to Mook, a Taser was deployed, but for whatever reason it was not effective in stopping him. One of the officers then fired gunshots at the man, killing him, authorities reported. The Pennsylvania State Police continued their investigation May 13 into the circumstances surrounding the fatal shooting of 36-year-old Patrick J. Kanonczyk in the 1600 block of Treetop Drive in The Reserve at Millcreek apartment complex off Kuntz Road. The two Millcreek police officers involved in the incident, who authorities have not named, are on administrative leave as the investigation continues. Mook said administrative leave is not meant to be punitive, but gives the officers time to process a traumatic event and to reset mentally before coming back to work. Erie County Coroner Lyell Cook said May 13, following an autopsy the previous afternoon, that Kanonczyk died of gunshot wounds, and he ruled the death a homicide, or the killing of one person by another. Cook said he could not comment further, including on how many times Kanonczyk was shot and where on his body he was struck, as the matter remains under investigation. Authorities reported previously that Kanonczyk was shot sometime after Millcreek police were called to Treetop Drive on May 11 at 7:18 p.m. to investigate reports of a man smashing car windows with hammers. Police said numerous calls were made to 911 about the man. Lt. Mary Gausman, crime section supervisor for state police Troop E in Lawrence Park Township, told the Erie Times-News May 12 that residents of the apartment complex reported the man, who Cook said lived in the apartment complex, had hammers and was smashing out vehicle windows. Kanonczyk reportedly threw a hammer at one resident who confronted him from her apartment balcony, breaking a window of another apartment, and reportedly threw a hammer at some other people at the complex who confronted him, according to Gausman. Mook said the man was still armed with a hammer when Millcreek officers arrived and encountered him, and he threw a hammer at the officers. Mook said the man then displayed a "weapon," although he declined to identify the type of weapon. State police have also not commented on whether Kanonczyk was armed with any other weapons besides hammers. Authorities said police attempted to administer first aid to Kanonczyk after the shooting before determining that he was dead. The Erie County Coroner's Office pronounced him dead at the scene at 8:24 p.m. May 11. There were no other injuries reported in the incident. Mook said there is body camera footage from the officers involved in the incident that was turned over to state police for review in their investigation. There is other video footage that will be reviewed as part of the probe, according to Gausman. Once state police completes the investigation into the shooting, the reports will be forwarded to the Erie County District Attorney's Office for review. It was not known May 13 when the state police investigation would be completed. Contact Tim Hahn at thahn@ Follow him on X @ETNhahn.
