Motorola introduces the Moto G56, G86 and G86 Power

Motorola announced three new G-series smartphones in its portfolio. While the trio looks nearly identical, there are some subtle differences in the specs department. Moto G86 and G86 Power share the same basic hardware, apart from the battery, which in the case of the latter is the largest cell ever fitted in a Motorola smartphone at a whopping 6,720mAh. Moto G56 is a more affordable entry with toned-down, capable specs and lower pricing. Moto G86 and G86 Power The new Moto G86 and G86 Power are built around a 6.67-inch OLED display with FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. The panel is rated at up to 4,500 nits peak local brightness and features Gorilla Glass 7i protection and an embedded fingerprint scanner. The software side is covered by Android 15 and both phones support up to 30W charging with the regular Moto G86 featuring a 5,200mAh battery. Both phones are IP68/IP69 rated against water and dust and feature a MIL-STD 810H rating. Motorola seems to have unceremoniously made the Moto G56 5G mid-ranger official

Whether this was carefully planned or not, a new mid-range Motorola smartphone appears to have casually gone official in at least two European markets at some point in the last couple of days. 6.67-inch FHD+ display; MediaTek Dimensity 7060 processor; 50MP primary rear-facing camera with Sony LYTIA 600 sensor and Quad Pixel technology; 8MP secondary ultra-wide-angle lens; 32MP front-facing camera; Auto Smile Shutter, Auto Night Vision, and AI Portrait Mode; 5,200mAh battery; 30W TurboPower charging support; Up to 256GB internal storage space; MicroSD card slot for up to 2TB external expansion; Corning Gorilla Glass 7i screen protection; Stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos audio technology; IP68 and IP69 water and dust resistance; Pantone Dazzling Blue, Pantone Dill, Pantone Gray Mist, and Pantone Black Oyster color options. Contrary to a rumor from yesterday, this is apparently a 6.67-inch affair rather than a slightly larger 6.72-inch device. That's not necessarily a bad thing, of course, as some buyers (especially on a tight budget) sometimes prefer compact handsets for maneuverability reasons. The Moto G56 5G will be a battery life champion. | Image Credit -- Motorola Besides, the Moto G56 5G is still guaranteed to expand the 6.49-inch screen real estate of last year's Moto G55 5G while almost certainly keeping the 120Hz refresh rate support unchanged. Naturally, with a bigger display comes the need for extra battery capacity, and indeed, it looks like the G56 will add 200mAh of juice to its predecessor's already sizable cell. That's far from a substantial upgrade, but it might be the best Motorola can do without making the robust Moto G56 too thick or heavy. Yes, this affordable bad boy will rock both IP68 and IP69 certification for top-notch resistance to water immersion, dust contact, and high-pressure water jets, and if recent rumors are correct, the new phone could be advertised as MIL-STD-810H compliant for durability in various other extreme use conditions as well. The most important piece that's still (officially) missing from the Moto G56 5G puzzle is without a doubt the recommended price. Unofficially, a typically trustworthy source recently told us to expect the mid-range handset to cost €270 in Europe, which would be a bit higher than the G55's starting price on the old continent last year. That obviously makes sense given the larger aforementioned screen, bigger battery, tougher construction, and of course, the upgraded Dimensity processor (the Moto G55 packs a Dimensity 7025), but before you start making plans and trying to convert that Euro tag in US dollars, allow me to highlight that the chances of seeing the Moto G56 released stateside are virtually nonexistent. What's sad is that the US is essentially guaranteed not to receive any of the Moto G-series devices leaked over the last few weeks, including the G86 and G96.

Motorola mistakenly lists the G56 early, confirms some of its specs

Motorola's Moto G56 has been leaking a lot recently, and earlier today the brand itself managed to mistakenly list it onto its websites in Czechia and Slovakia. The listing seems to have been taken down in the meantime - but you know how the saying goes, the Internet is forever. So the images in this article are taken straight from Motorola's own official website. The listing has confirmed the previously leaked colorways in which the device will be offered: Pantone Dazzling Blue, Pantone Dill, Pantone Gray Mist, and Pantone Black Oyster. Also confirmed is the MediaTek Dimensity 7060 at the helm, paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of expandable storage, the 50 MP main rear camera using Sony's Lytia LYT-600 sensor, the 32 MP selfie camera, the 5,200 mAh battery with support for 30W wired charging, the IP68 and IP69 dust and water resistance, MIL-STD-810H rating for ruggedness (with advertised drop protection up to 1.2m), and Gorilla Glass 7i protection for the screen. The Moto G56 is finally getting official on May 29. Via (in Dutch)

Motorola's next mid-range phone had its specs and price leaked

Motorola Moto G56 | Image credit: Motorola is expected to launch more entry-level and mid-range smartphones by the end of the year. The Moto G56 is one of the phones that's likely to be introduced in the next couple of weeks considering the number of reports that specifically talked about the fact, it's only been a few days since the Moto G56's complete design was leaked online. Now we're back with the rest of the information such as specs and price, so if you're in the market for a not so expensive mid-range Android smartphone, or you're simply curious about Motorola's next device, here is what the Moto G56 looks like on the inside. According to a new report, the Moto G56 will be a decent upgrade over the current model, the Moto G55. The phone will feature an updated chipset, a bigger display, a bigger selfie camera, and, more importantly, a slightly larger battery. Motorola Moto G56 rumored specs : Display : 6.72-inch, FHD+ (1080 x 2400 pixels) resolution, Corning Gorilla Glass 7i : 6.72-inch, FHD+ (1080 x 2400 pixels) resolution, Corning Gorilla Glass 7i Chipset : MediaTek Dimensity 7060 : MediaTek Dimensity 7060 Memory : 4 / 8GB RAM : 4 / 8GB RAM Storage : 128 / 256GB (expandable via microSD) : 128 / 256GB (expandable via microSD) Camera : 50 MP (f/1.8) + 8 MP ultra-wide : 50 MP (f/1.8) + 8 MP ultra-wide Front camera : 32 MP : 32 MP Battery : 5,200 mAh, 33W wired charging support : 5,200 mAh, 33W wired charging support Dimensions : 161.56 x 73.82 x 8.19 mm : 161.56 x 73.82 x 8.19 mm Weight : 200 grams In comparison, the Moto G55 is equipped with a slightly older MediaTek Dimensity 7025 chipset and sports a much smaller 6.49-inch display with FHD+ resolution, 120 Hz refresh rate, and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. Motorola Moto G56 | Image credit: Also, the Moto G55 has a smaller 16-megapixel front-facing camera, but it comes with a similar dual-camera setup and memory. Finally, the Moto G55 packs a slightly smaller 5,000 mAh battery with 30W wired charging support. As far as the price goes, the Moto G56 is rumored to cost €270 in Europe and will come in four different colors: PANTONE Gray Mist, PANTONE Dill, PANTONE Dazzling Blue, and PANTONE Black Oyster. In comparison, the Moto G55 was introduced last year for €250, so the sequel will be a bit more expensive. Overall, it doesn't seem like you'll need to upgrade from the Moto G55 to the new phone, but as a mid-range phone the Moto G56 is quite decent. It will probably have strong competition in Europe from Chinese brands, but Motorola fans will most likely find appealing enough.
