Here's the trailer for Mr. Wonderful , which offers an emotional preview of what would become Michael Madsen's final leading role before his passing at 67 from heart failure. Madsen plays Brian Fenton, a weary college professor juggling a crumbling career, a troubled son spiraling into addiction, and the emotional toll of caring for his father as he slips into dementia. It looks like a grounded, character-driven performance that highlights Madsen's ability to carry vulnerability beneath his rugged screen presence. Director Mark David, who previously worked with Madsen as a DP on several films, reflected on the actor's legacy, saying: 'A really sweet guy, warm, funny and such a powerhouse on screen. I believed every word he said on camera. I wanted to make more movies with him.' Writer and producer Daniel Blake Smith echoed those sentiments, quoting Madsen's sister, actress Virginia Madsen: 'Thunder and velvet… mischief wrapped in tenderness.
