Inside Showpo CEO Jane Lu's bizarre Pitbull-themed birthday party
Showpo CEO Jane Lu turned 39 last week and her employees celebrated the big day with a hilarious prank. The Australian businesswoman shared a clip to Instagram on Monday that showed her workers dressed up as US singer Pitbull - aka Mr. Worldwide - for her birthday. The girls wore bald caps, wide-framed glasses and suits to surprise their boss, along with pencil-drawn chin specks to replicate the rapper's facial hair. 'We are surprising Jane for her birthday today. We are all dressed like Mr. Worldwide,' one of the girls told the camera. The employees could be seen dancing in the clip, with one person even doing the splits, as Jane arrived at the office. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. A Fireball drinks canister could be seen in the clip, hinting at the similarly-named Pitbull song that played in the background of the video. Jane's reaction was priceless, as her mouth gaped open at the bizarre surprise party. The Shark Tank star showed off her endless, trim pins in a brown mini skirt, which she paired with a black turtle neck shirt and oversized brown blazer. 'Mrs Worldwide has a nice ring to it,' she captioned the post. It's currently a viral social media trend for people to dress as the Hotel Room Service hitmaker and attend his concerts. Various TikTok clips show crowds of bald cap-wearing attendees at his shows, with the trend turning into a meme. Jane recently took to TikTok to poke fun at how her husband feels no pressure to dress up like she does. Despite the fact that she runs Showpo, her husband James Waldie, who is the chief financial officer, is usually wearing thongs and a t-shirt. While Jane is constantly seen in an array of mini skirts and dresses, her husband wears the same casual uniform paired with a backpack and a messy bun. The businesswoman joked that he was a real 'style icon' with the majority of Aussies praising his 'Steve Jobs mentality' when it comes to fashion. 'Love that money doesn't change him,' one person wrote. 'This is so real. Relatable,' another said. Another joked that James' simple and affordable fashion sense was the reason the couple now own a $100million company. One joked that this proves 'all men are the same', while another pointed out that his lack of wardrobe would mean Jane would have more space for her own clothes.

Hilarious moment father is mobbed by screaming fans after being mistaken for Pitbull at rapper's O2 concert
This is the moment a father was mobbed by screaming fans after being mistaken for Pitbull at the rapper's concert. Phil Mansford, 49, went to the O2 Arena in London last week to see the real Mr. Worldwide but ended up becoming the star of the night himself. As he strolled through the busy queue, people began screaming, pointing and leaving their spots in line to follow him, convinced they were in the presence of the rapper. Phil, wearing a suit and aviator sunglasses, played along and waved his arm around which further added to the excitement. People lined up on either side of them and recorded Phil with their phones as his friend pretended to be his bodyguard. Starstruck screams could be heard in the background. Phil's daughter, Niamh, 23, shared the video online on June 11 where it quickly attracted a staggering 2.6m views. 'My parents went to see Pitbull at The O2 with some friends,' Niamh, from Bedfordshire, said. 'He didn't sign any autographs, but he took selfies with people. 'People were grabbing him and high-fiving him.' She added: 'It was mad. 'He was a bit shocked to begin with but then he thought, "You know what this is brilliant", and just went with it. 'Everyone was cheering him through the O2.' As other concert-goers stopped dead in their tracks at the sight of the Mr Worldwide lookalike, he made his way up some escalators. Phil's friend filmed a video himself as attendees swarmed the floor below them. Phil, also from Bedfordshire, attended the concert on June 10. Since Niamh shared the video, she has received 390,900 likes and tonnes of comments from viewers. One viewer said: 'This is the funniest thing ever. Everyone screaming at the bottom.' Steph said: 'Omg I have a video of everyone going mad, all convinced Pitbull just strolled through the crowd.' 'Stop this is so funny,' Beth added. Fran said: 'I am dead this is brilliant.' 'Phil really said uno, dos, tres, cuatro,' The O2 joked. It comes after a Paul Weller fan told how staff at a curry house mistook him for the singer - and said he was forced to deny being the Modfather after being asked for his autograph eight times. Martin Carroll had gone to see his idol in Wolverhampton last year when he found himself at the centre of a bizarre case of mistaken identity. By the end of it, the 56-year-old, who has dead straight blonde hair just like the star, was screaming 'I'm not Paul Weller, I'm just Martin from accounts' but no one was listening. The saga began as Martin from Stratford-upon-Avon, was waiting for his mate near the concert hall when a chef appeared from a nearby restaurant and asked him to sign his apron. 'I told him, "I'm not Paul Weller",' said Martin, 'but that was just the start of it. 'My friend Carl likes a curry before going to a gig so when he arrived we asked if they were open, went in and sat down. 'One member of staff came over and asked for a picture when we got out starters and I told him that I wasn't Paul Weller but they weren't listening. 'When the bill came, it was about £110 so my mate and we went halves on it and I showed them my card. 'I even got out my phone to show them a picture of me with Paul Weller to show them what he really looked like. 'At the end of the meal, the restaurant owner came over with her daughter asking for an autograph and I told them too that I was Martin. I must have told them eight times.' But this was not enough to convince Bilash Restaurant that they had not just served a star. Within minutes of the snap being taken they had uploaded it to their Facebook page with the words: 'The legend Paul Weller here dining tonight just before performing at the halls. 'Thank you #paulweller for choosing us for your dining experience.'

White shirts. Black ties. Bald caps. Pitbull's fans party like clones worldwide
Londoners have reported thousands of sightings of Pitbull this week. With that bald head, goatee and suit, he's pretty hard to miss. On closer inspection, though, it becomes clear that Mr. Worldwide is not actually everywhere all at once — in his stead, those are clones swarming London, on their way to the O2 Arena to see him onstage. That goatee? Drawn on. That bare head? Bald caps, in lieu of a dramatic shave. More than two decades into his career, the Miami superstar whose hits — from 'Hotel Room Service' to 'Timber' and 'Give Me Everything' to 'El Taxi' — have become permanent playlist staples of weddings, bar mitzvahs and, yes, the club is stoking a growing fan frenzy in the U.K. and beyond. He started noticing the odd look-alike or two at concerts back in 2021, emerging from the pandemic-era lockdowns. 'Maybe out of 20,000 people coming to the show, 30,000 coming to show, you'll see a thousand,' he says of what happened next. But that's before he hit the U.K. 'We jumped the pond and we ended up in London and it was just something else. It was definitely a whole new movement, took it to a whole new level,' Pitbull told The Associated Press, the day after Monday's show in London. The phenomenon is something that has rapidly grown from a minority to the majority — or from a negative to a positive, as Pitbull is known to say. Unlike the celebrity look-alike contests that reward uncanny resemblance to the likes of Timothée Chalamet,Glen Powell or even Ernest Hemingway, it's less about the ability to grow the right facial hair and more about the vibe. After all, the vast majority of those dressed up at Monday's concert were women. (Pitbelles, one could say.) These wannabe clones were spotted on the underground to North Greenwich, where they proceeded to dance outside the arena to a live DJ set for hours before the show even started. Photos were taken in front of a giant poster of Pitbull and goatees were carefully colored in on friends' faces before, finally, the sunglasses went on. Rebecca Petrie and Jamie Lee Hart spent hours online to get tickets, traveling from Scotland for the gig. They suggested that girls are more drawn to dressing up than guys. 'Women are more brave,' Hart said. And Pitbull appreciates that. 'To have more women in the crowd, it just goes to show you that they are feeling what the most powerful woman in my life has taught me on stage,' he says, referencing his mother, 'which is a gentleman that knows how to have a good time. Sometimes a little naughty, sometimes a little nice, but more than anything a good person that will do the right thing to the best of my ability.' Videos from Pitbull's London show in February flooded social media with a decent number of look-alikes vibing out to tracks like 'On the Floor' and 'Fireball.' When additional June shows for his 'Party After Dark' tour went on sale, ticket buyers got the memo: Dress up or stand out as one of the few who didn't. Indeed, the floor of the arena on Monday looked like a sea of baked beans, courtesy the bald caps, while the stands looked like the destination of an unlikely school trip, with rows after rows of white shirts and black ties askew. 'If you're going to go to a Pitbull concert you need to really feel his energy and you can't do that without a bald cap and a suit,' attendee Keeley James Elliot said, while posing with Mr. Worldwide-inspired inflated globes outside the venue. Expect similar scenes at his upcoming Europe dates, as he winds his way through Paris, Prague and Poland. He'll jaunt back to the U.S. for dates in South Dakota, Las Vegas and a stop at the Iowa State Fair, before making his way to Australia in October. The 305 may be an area code, but it reaches far beyond South Florida. Fans should know that Pitbull wholeheartedly appreciates their efforts and makes sure to watch the crowds arriving for the show. He too is a fan — of them: 'To have people out here feeling that good dressed up as me — man, unbelievable.'

Pitbull is a fan of his fans. He says it's his job to make them feel good
LONDON — Is Pitbull the penguin of music? It's been said that it's hard to look at a penguin and feel sad. And likewise, it's tough to listen to one of Mr. Worldwide's party anthems and feel bad. That's always been his aim. 'They're there for when you're feeling a certain way in life,' Pitbull explains. 'It can help pick you up or it can take you to the next level.'
