Indore: BPO employees are enjoying a long weekend— thanks to the US Independence Day that fell on July 4 and the upcoming Muhurram festival next week. IT professionals and back-office staff got their first of the two Independence Day leaves on Friday.

Coupled with the US Independence Day, an optional Muharram holiday in the following week allows professionals in India employed in US-aligned shifts and BPO sectors to seize the opportunity for extended getaways. While some staff have planned in advance trips to other cities, those left out have come up with ideas to visit getaways nearby.
