Criminals flee after uprooting ATM having 18 lakh in Sikar

Jhunjhunu: Criminals fled with an ATM of State Bank of India (SBI) after uprooting it in Ajitgarh, Sikar district, late Thursday night. The ATM had contained over Rs 18 lakh.
According to police, the criminals arrived in a black Scorpio car.
They held the ATM security guard, Gajendra Singh, hostage, assaulted him, and tied his hands and feet. The criminals cut the CCTV camera and internet wires.
Using tools, they uprooted the ATM machine, loaded it into the Scorpio, and escaped, police said.
The guard freed himself and informed the police. Upon receiving the information, Ajitgarh station officer Mukesh Sepat, deputy SP Umesh Gupta, and other police officers arrived at the scene to assess the situation.
The police administration became alert as soon as they learned about the incident.
Sepat said that an 'A' category blockade was enforced in nearby districts, including Sikar, Jaipur Rural, Alwar, Bhiwadi and Kotputli. The FSL team also collected evidence. Police have formed three teams to catch the criminals, with two teams from the Ajitgarh police station area and one team from the Thoi police station area. Police are reviewing CCTV footage and gathering intelligence from the areas surrounding the crime scene, he said.
