This section is vital, incorporating the Vapi bullet train station, a 350-metre tunnel, five river bridges, and one PSC bridge. The NHSRCL, in an official release, stated that the newly completed bridge on the Daman Ganga River is 360 metres long with nine full-span girders. Live Events The bridge is located between the upcoming Boisar and Vapi bullet train stations . Another river bridge over the Darotha River has already been completed between these two stations. The other completed river bridges in Valsad include the Auranga (320 m), Par (320 m), Kolak (160 m), and Darotha (80 m). The Daman Ganga River originates from the Sahyadri hills near Valveri village in Nashik district of Maharashtra, flowing approximately 131 km, traversing Maharashtra, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, and Daman before joining the Arabian Sea. Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train Big Update: 17 Steel bridges now complete in Gujarat, new bridge weighs around…, top speed to be…

New Delhi: In a major development that promises to make the traveling experience of passengers comfortable and convenient, the Indian Railways has completed the eighth steel bridge of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train project. This has marked nearly 50 percent progress on the 17 planned steel structures in the state. It is important to note that the latest bridge, a 100-metre-long span, was successfully launched over Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC) tracks near Bharuch. A total of 28 such bridges have been planned on the entire Mumbai-Ahmedabad high-speed rail corridor, with 17 in Gujarat. Here are some of the key details: The newly launched bridge weighs around 1,400 metric tons, stands 14.6 metres tall, and spans 14.3 metres wide. A total of 28 such bridges have been planned on the entire Mumbai-Ahmedabad high-speed rail corridor, with 17 in Gujarat. It was fabricated at a workshop in Trichy and transported to the site using specially designed trailers. An 84-metre-long launching nose weighing about 600 metric tons was used to push the bridge into place. The structure was built using 55,300 high-strength Tor-Shear bolts, featuring elastomeric bearings and C5-grade protective coating, all engineered to ensure a lifespan of 100 years. To recall, the National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) had released a statement and informed that the bridge was assembled at the site at a height of 18 m from the ground on temporary trestles and was pulled with automatic mechanism of two semi-automatic jacks, each of capacity of 250 ton using mac-alloy bars. To minimise disruption to freight movement, the launch was executed through carefully phased traffic blocks on the DFC tracks. With this, the high-speed corridor in Gujarat section now has eight completed steel bridges at key locations including Surat, Vadodara, Nadiad, Silvassa and Bharuch.

Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train: casting of first rail-level slab complete at Boisar station

Casting work for the first rail-level slab of the upcoming Boisar station under the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train project was fully completed on Tuesday. The 40-metre by 37-metre slab was built using over 1,070 cubic metres of concrete and will act as the track-laying base for bullet trains. Boisar station, which is one of the main stops on the high-speed rail corridor, will have a total of nine such slabs at the rail level. Upon completion, the two-level station – with a concourse and a rail level – will be 425 metres long. The station will have a total built-up area of around 17,000 square metres, including 6,000 square metres at the concourse level. According to officials at the National High-Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL), the work on Boisar station will include the use of approximately 8,000 metric tonnes of steel and 42,000 cubic metres of concrete. Once commissioned, the station is likely to boost connectivity to important areas like the proposed Vadhavan Port (23 km away), Boisar and Tarapur industrial areas, Tarapur Atomic Power Station, and some tourist hotspots like Kelwa Beach, Dahanu, Bordi and Hiradpada waterfalls. 'Boisar will have a vital role to play in the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail corridor, facilitating regional connectivity and economic growth. The architectural design of the station is based on the traditional fishing nets employed by Konkani fishermen, honouring the maritime heritage of the region,' said an NHSRCL official. Passenger facilities at the station will include paid and unpaid lounges, waiting areas, smoking areas, first aid facilities, toilets, drinking water facilities and retail outlets. Lifts and escalators will also be there to facilitate smooth movement between floors.
