New President of Federal Supreme Court is Sworn In

Judge Munther Ibrahim Hussein has been officially sworn in as President of Iraq's Federal Supreme Court (FSC) during a ceremony at Baghdad Palace, overseen by President Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid.
President Rashid congratulated Judge Hussein and wished him success in his new role. He reaffirmed his support for the Court's independence and its vital role in upholding democracy, maintaining constitutional checks and balances, and protecting judicial autonomy.
The President emphasised that strict adherence to the Constitution is key to building a just and stable state governed by the rule of law, where rights and freedoms are fully protected.
Judge Hussein pledged to safeguard the Constitution and uphold the rule of law, while preserving the Court's independence from any external influence. He thanked the President for his support and reaffirmation of the Court's constitutional mandate.
