Angry Kanye West fans chant for refund at chaotic Shanghai show: ‘Worst concert ever'

Kanye West's fans erupted into an angry chant after the rapper was more than 40 minutes late to his 70,000-strong crowd gig in Shanghai, China. Over the weekend, the disgraced rapper — who goes by Ye — was greeted to loud chants from frustrated concert-goers who demanded refunds, the Global Times reports. In a fan-recorded clip on X, thousands of fans can be heard demanding a refund after the 'Jesus Walks' rapper's live show was marred by tardiness and a slew of technical problems. 6 Kanye West's fans erupted into an angry chant after the rapper was more than 40 minutes late to his 70,000-strong crowd gig in Shanghai, China. @TillertheWorld/X 'So I've been a fan of Kanye West since I was a teen. MBDTF opened my ears to the sonics in music,' one fan wrote on X, referencing West's 2010 album, 'My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.' 'Was hard to get tix for him in Shanghai but got it. Was hyped af. Couldn't even sleep night before. But. Worst concert I've ever been to. @kanyewest u can be better.' In a follow-up post, the frustrated concert-goer slammed the rapper's decision to perform live. '@kanyewest you should not tour. It's not for you. Stick to the studio. Drop surprise albums and be that guy. I'm the biggest supporter of (most of) your work. You waste people's time, excitement and money by pretending that you're a performer,' he added. In another series of posts, the fan accused the 24-time Grammy winner of lip syncing. 'Mostly lip synching. His microphone must have been up less than 20 per cent of the time,' he wrote on X, before claiming that West left the stage for 20 minutes during the encore. 'For the encore, he disappeared for over 20 minutes at one point as tracks like Wolves just played out with him nowhere in sight,' he wrote on X. 'I could have just played your music at home man. Came to see u perform????' 6 The disgraced rapper, who goes by Ye, was greeted to loud chants from frustrated concert-goers who demanded refunds. @__shouge__/X 6 Thousands of fans can be heard demanding a refund after West's live show was marred by tardiness and a slew of technical problems. @Fabian_Lemuel/X During his brief time onstage, fans claimed that West suffered from a myriad of technical issues, forcing the DJ to restart several songs from scratch. After the show — which marked West's first since September 2024 — one gig-goer said they had 'never seen such a poorly organized concert,' adding it was the 'worst concert ever.' On Saturday night, event promoter StellarAmberGroup wrote on China's social media platform, Sina Weibo, that not all visuals could be executed as planned, blaming heavy rainfall for the show's disappointing production. 'However, for this long-awaited return after 17 years, Ye's team insisted on prioritizing artistic integrity. After emergency adjustments, the show was delayed to ensure the best possible experience and to minimize the disappointment for the audience,' the statement said. 6 Fans claimed that West suffered from a myriad of technical issues, forcing the DJ to restart several songs from scratch. @__shouge__/X 6 The rapper's show on Saturday marked his first since September 2024. The rapper's Shanghai show came just days after his former assistant accused him of sexual assault, battery, stalking, sexual battery, sex trafficking, false imprisonment and oral rape in an amended lawsuit. In legal documents obtained by The Post, Lauren Pisciotta — who was West's personal assistant from 2021 through 2022 — claimed that most of the alleged crimes took place on a business trip to San Francisco during her tenure. Pisciotta, an influencer and former OnlyFans model, claimed she turned down alleged advances from West on numerous occasions. In her amended suit, the 36-year-old claimed that West — who shares four children with ex-wife Kim Kardashian — kissed her on the mouth and later masturbated while 'forcibly touching' her during a writing session in his hotel room. 6 West's Shanghai show came just days after his ex-assistant accused him of sexual assault, battery, stalking, sexual battery, sex trafficking, false imprisonment and oral rape. BACKGRID She further alleged that the 'Stronger' rapper forced himself into her hotel room, asking to use her shower, before orally raping her. She claims he pinned her down, leaving her 'froze[n] in shock and fear.' The 'Runaway' rapper's spokesperson has since fired back at Pisciotta's claims in a statement to Page Six. Bon Iver swerves subject of Kanye West amid rapper's ongoing scandals

Justin Vernon, the US artist better known as Bon Iver, made a fleeting reference to his past collaborations with disgraced rapper Kanye West as he admitted he was reluctant to talk about the controversial artist. Vernon and West, who legally changed his name to Ye in 2022, were once closely linked after the rapper was introduced to Vernon's Blood Bank EP by his keyboard player, Jeff Bhasker. After West invited Vernon out to Hawaii to collaborate, they produced 'Lost in the World' – which sampled the hook from Bon Iver's 'Woods' – regarded as a highlight of West's 2010 album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. Vernon was credited on a further two songs on the album – 'Dark Fantasy' and 'Monster', the latter also featuring rappers Jay-Z, Rick Ross and Nicki Minaj –and on three songs on 2013's Yeezus. In 2015, West brought Vernon out on stage during his Glastonbury headline performance, introducing the indie musician as 'one of the baddest white boys on the planet'. In a new interview with The Guardian, Vernon spoke about the feeling that fame and exhaustion might have made him a 's***head' to his friends and family: 'The attention came to me and of course I'm going to react, like: I'm worth it, or something. Then, subconsciously you steer towards a little more self-destruction.' He appeared to suggest that West had veered into that self-destructive territory, having notoriously championed Donald Trump during his first presidential campaign and sparked uproar over a series of antisemitic outbursts, the most recent of which took place in February this year. Vernon, meanwhile, has been critical of Trump's America in his music and endorsed Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential election. He has also collaborated with pop star Taylor Swift on her albums Folklore and Evermore, with whom West has previously clashed with. 'I don't really want to talk about Kanye,' he said in the interview, 'but it's a good example of observing when people have their head up their ass a little bit, or they're so busy, and so needed, that you start getting soft.' Vernon said that his own problems weren't 'that hard', having earlier confirmed that he won't be touring his new album. 'Just stop it, ' he said. 'I know there's a lot of pressure on you, but the answer is either yes or no, and if it's no, you better get the f*** out of here because you can't keep acting like this. I could see the quality of my character slowly diminishing from trying to be too much to too many people.' In a four-star review of Bon Iver's new album, SABLE, fABLE, critic Helen Brown wrote: 'Although he's spoken of making 'radiant pop music', his version of that (with the help of producer Jim-E Stack) is to brighten his earthy, acoustic landscapes with synths and drum pads. 'It's not dissimilar to what Sufjan Stevens likes to do when finding the silver linings in his own clouds… You can almost feel the soft, supple rubber of the 80s-style drum pads flexing beneath Ben Lester's easy-going pedal steel solo.'

Ye Questions If Cassie 'Extorted' Diddy, Social Media Reacts

Warning: The following article contains triggering language related to sexual assault, abuse, and rape. Ye is back on X with more controversial statements. Early Friday morning (Feb. 21), the rapper, formerly known as Kanye West, invited followers to give their opinion on the sexual assault and abuse allegations Cassie Fine made against Sean 'Diddy' Combs. 'Did Cassie extort Puff?' he asked the social media audience. His upload comes after the landmark case Fine filed against Combs, and the widespread 2016 surveillance video of Combs punching and kicking her in a hotel was made public last year following abuse accusations made by the R&B singer against her former partner. The replies included several posts from accounts bearing a purchased blue verification check on the platform, often an indicator of users attempting to drive engagement for monetary gain. Some responses, however, opposed the Chicago's musician prompt. 'Crazy to think this ni**a made 'My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy'', said one user. 'The single best album I ever heard in any genre of music……now cuz mind is completely gone.' 'She got beaten. On film. He doesn't have enough money to cover that trauma. Whatever she got cash wise she deserves wayyyyyyy more,' added another. One account blatantly responded, 'Don't release whatever music you're gonna release.' Another user declared, 'Alright you unfollowed..' In November 2023, Fine filed a lawsuit against Combs, accusing him of repeated physical abuse for over a decade, sex trafficking, sexual battery, sexual assault, and violations of New York City's gender-motivated violence law. While the two settled for an undisclosed amount just days later, the litigation opened the floodgates for hundreds of alleged victims to file suit against the Hip-Hop mogul, as well as a criminal trial. Currently, Combs remains behind bars awaiting trial after being arrested in September 2024. He faces charges including racketeering conspiracy; sex trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion; and transportation to engage in prostitution. According to the BBC, the Harlem native could be sentenced to life in prison for the racketeering charge, and another statutory minimum sentence of 15 years if found guilty of the sex trafficking charge. The trial is set to begin in May 2025.
