The series is an adaptation of Saburo Nagai's manga, which goes by the same name. Smells Like Green Spirit was first aired on September, 2024, which immediately became a fan favorite. Due to this, the staff decided to make a compilation movie that will have additional scenes, following the story of Futoshi Mishima and Taro Yumeno. The entire cast from the series will return, and the movie will be directed by Ikuko Sawada, the same director who was behind the success of the series. The main protagonist, Futoshi Mishima, will be played by Towa Araki.
