For New York Knicks star Josh Hart, that was exactly what happened recently. Hart, who has become a key player for the Knicks over the last couple of years, recently took to social media to share his thoughts on Pittsburgh Pirates superstar pitcher Paul Skenes. Skenes, who has become one of the most popular players in baseball, has been elite once again this season. However, his team has not done much winning. Regardless of his elite performances, he simply can't seem to pick up wins. Skenes had recorded a 1.20 ERA in July, but hadn't picked up a win in a game since May. That did not sit well with Hart. He posted and made it clear that he would like to see Skenes get traded by the Pirates. "For the love of God," Hart wrote. "This is make the MLB force a trade." Obviously, his post comes just ahead of the MLB trade deadline on July 31. Skenes is extremely unlikely to be moved, but Hart would like to see it. Speaking of Hart and his basketball team, New York is coming off of a tough loss in the Eastern Conference Finals to the Indiana Pacers. Both players will have a chance to carve out roles for the Knicks. A new head coach was also hired by New York. Following the decision to part ways with Tom Thibodeau, the Knicks brought in Mike Brown to replace him. It will be interesting to see what the future holds for both Hart and Skenes. More than likely, the superstar pitcher will not be traded, but Hart is holding out hope for a change of scenery for him. Lakers' Deandre Ayton Pursuit Gets Major Update From NBA Insider

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. The Los Angeles Lakers have been relatively quiet so far this offseason. That has not made the fans very happy as they wait for Rob Pelinka to build out a championship contender around LeBron James and Luka Doncic. So far in free agency, the Lakers have signed Jake LaRavia to a two-year, $12 million contract. While he's a solid addition, he's not the kind of impact player that can make the necessary improvement for the team to win a title. While things have started off slowly, the rumors have picked up surrounding Los Angeles. Read more: Report: Lakers Have Discussed Trades for 3 Centers Deandre Ayton has become a big name attached to Los Angeles. After reaching an agreement on a buyout with the Portland Trail Blazers, Ayton is scheduled to clear waivers on Wednesday evening and will be free to sign with the team of his choosing. Since the buyout was agreed to, the Lakers have been viewed as Ayton's top destination. However, a new update has been given regarding another team showing interest in signing him. According to a report from NBA insider Jake Fischer, Los Angeles is now facing competition from the Indiana Pacers to sign Ayton. Of course, Ayton previously signed a four-year, $133 million max offer sheet with the Pacers a few years back. "Sources say that the Pacers have, however, registered interest in Ayton. Don't forget that the contract Ayton just terminated through his Blazers buyout was a four-year, $133 offer sheet that he originally signed with Indiana in July 2022 as a Phoenix Suns restricted free agent," Fischer wrote. Despite facing more competition for Ayton, Fischer did make it clear that the Lakers appear to be the most likely destination for the former No. 1 overall pick. "The safest forecast remains that Ayton winds up a Laker after clearing waivers." He averaged 14.4 points, 10.2 rebounds, 1.6 assists, and a block per game. At just 26 years old, Ayton is just now entering his true prime. Joining forces with Doncic and James could be of major intrigue to him. That being said, he clearly had previous interest in playing for Indiana as well. With the big man set to clear waivers in a matter of hours, the rumors surrounding his decision will begin picking up steam throughout the day. Brooklyn Nets jersey history No. 15 - Billy Schaeffer (1973-76)

The Brooklyn Nets have 52 jersey numbers worn by over 600 different players over the course of their history since the franchise was founded in 1967 as a charter member of the American Basketball Association (ABA), when the team was known as the "New Jersey Americans". Since then, that league has been absorbed by the NBA with the team that would later become the New York Nets and New Jersey Nets before settling on the name by which they are known today, bringing their rich player and jersey history with them to the league of today. Advertisement To commemorate the players who played for the Nets over the decades wearing those 52 different jersey numbers, Nets Wire is covering the entire history of the franchise's jersey numbers and the players who sported them since the founding of the team. The 17th of those 52 different numbers is jersey No. 15 which has has had a total of 14 players wear the number in the history of the team. The Bellerose, New York native played parts of the first three seasons of his pro career with the ABA's New York franchise instead, however, ending when he was dealt to the (defunct) Virginia Squires in 1976. Anthony Davis' Change in Physical Appearance Turns Heads

In one of the most unexpected trades in recent NBA history, the Los Angeles Lakers and Dallas Mavericks executed a blockbuster deal that sent Luka Doncic to Los Angeles and Anthony Davis to Dallas. The move shocked the NBA community, and is widely regarded as one of the most controversial deals in league history. Since joining the Mavericks, Davis delivered solid performances, averaging 24.7 points, 11.6 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game with a 51.6% field goal percentage. However, his first season in Dallas was marred by injuries, including a left adductor strain that sidelined him for a significant portion of the season. Advertisement On Wednesday, Davis made the trip to a place he once called home. The 10x All-Star was spotted at the Lakers' practice facility at the Klutch Pro Day, wearing a Dallas Mavericks hat. The image quickly circulated on social media. One things fans noticed was Davis seemingly sporting a new haircut. "No way did he cut his hair?" one asked. "Damm did he cut his hair ?" asked another. "And he got the 2019-2020 season cut too," said one. "He cut the hair, now he finna cut back to PF weight we getting prime mobility back #scaryhours," said another. "He cut the hair we going back to PF," another added. "PELICANS HAIR AD," said another. Advertisement It's worth noting Davis is wearing a hat, so it is hard to tell exactly what hairstyle he is sporting, but it looks to many fans that he has indeed gotten a cut. During his time in LA, Davis helped the Lakers win an NBA championship in 2020 and the inaugural NBA In-Season Tournament in 2023. He was a cornerstone of the team's defense and a consistent offensive threat, earning multiple All-NBA and All-Defensive Team honors.
