NLC India in advanced talks with Russian firm for sourcing lithium
Centre-owned NLC India Ltd. has planned to source lithium from Africa . The company is at the closing stage of discussions with a Russian government-owned company for sourcing lithium from its mine in Africa. As India is taking measures to ensure a stable supply of lithium to meet the country's clean energy demand, such deals are crucial for the economy and Indian industries. Hence, the country is focusing on exploring and developing lithium blocks both in the domestic market and overseas. The core business of this NLC India includes coal and lignite mining and power generation. Additionally, the company has diversified into the renewable energy and coal mining business in India and abroad. NLC India secures Letter of Award from NTPC Ltd for hybrid power project
Synopsis NLC India Ltd. has secured a Letter of Award from NTPC Ltd. to establish a 450 MW Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS) connected wind-solar hybrid power project in Rajasthan. The project, split between Bikaner (300 MW) and Bhuj (150 MW), will supply hybrid power to NTPC for 25 years under a Power Purchase Agreement, with supply commencing within 24 months.
