Star Trek: Strange New Worlds EPs Tease Spock and Chapel's Future — Does He Have a New Love Interest?

Warning: This post contains spoilers from Season 3, Episode 2 of . Spock's heart was shattered — if Vulcan hearts can even shatter, that is — this week on Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. But a fellow Enterprise crew member may be about to mend that heart. More from TVLine Star Trek: Strange New Worlds EP Breaks Down Pike's Emotional Struggle in Premiere: 'It's an Opportunity for Him to Dig Deeper' It's Official: Samuel L. Jackson to Star in Tulsa King Spinoff NOLA King at Paramount+ - See First Photo Evil Cast, Creators Still 'Sit Around and Talk About It Endlessly,' Aasif Mandvi Says - See Reunion Photo In Season 3's second episode (which hit Paramount+ on Thursday), Spock was excited to welcome Chapel back after her fellowship, but she didn't return alone: She was accompanied by her dashing new boyfriend, Dr. Roger Korby, played by Cillian O'Sullivan. Spock had trouble processing her new romance — it's not logical! — but after a mischievous alien created an alternate reality where Spock and Chapel were about to be married, Spock realized it wasn't right and did the noble thing, reuniting her with Korby. So now that they're no longer a romantic item, what's next for Spock and Chapel as shipmates? 'They will have to interact,' executive producer Henry Alonso Myers tells TVLine, and 'that interaction will be dramatic, no matter what… We promise you that those great dramatic and comic scenes between them will continue on. Just because we end that particular romantic part of their relationship doesn't mean that there aren't future interesting parts of the relationship that you're gonna run right into the face of.' Spock and Chapel have 'a very complex relationship that they don't always spend enough time talking about,' Myers points out, 'and that's part of the challenge that they run into.' Fellow EP Akiva Goldsman adds that 'we love the characters [of Spock and Chapel], and so they're going through a thing, you know. It's hard.' What might make it easier, though, is a new romantic prospect for Spock, and we saw some hints of that in his interactions with security officer La'an in Episode 2. (We're not the only ones who felt a vibe from those dance lessons, right?) Spock and La'an's connection is 'more casual, and more grown-up,' Myers notes. 'They come into it very much like adults who appreciate what they have to offer each other. They're friends first, I would say.' But maybe not just friends in the end, we're thinking. Are you liking the idea of Spock and La'an together? Or are you still holding out hope for a rekindling with Chapel? Beam down to the comments to give us your thoughts. Samuel L. Jackson heads 'NOLA King' spinoff, joining these icons in Taylor Sheridan universe

Taylor Sheridan is expanding the "Tulsa King" empire with Samuel L. Jackson tapped to lead the new series "NOLA King," set in New Orleans. Jackson, 76, the star of "Pulp Fiction" and the Marvel Comic Universe, headlines his first TV series with the first "Tulsa King" spinoff for Paramount+. Jackson's character, Russell Lee Washington Jr., will be introduced in Season 3 of "Tulsa King" with Sylvester Stallone, slated for September. "NOLA King" follows Washington (Jackson), who befriended Tulsa mob boss Dwight Manfredi (Stallone) during a 10-year stint in federal prison. Washington is sent to Tulsa by New York's Renzetti crime family to take out Manfredi. Washington changes his mind, "inspired by what Dwight created in Tulsa and impressed with the possibilities of second chances," Paramount+ says in its announcement. "Washington returns to New Orleans, the home he abandoned 45 years prior, to rekindle his relationship with his family, friends, and to take control of the city he left behind." The TV role marks another iconic senior actor finding new life – and action – in the Taylor Sheridan TV universe that has included Stallone, Kevin Costner, Harrison Ford, Helen Mirren, Billy Bob Thornton and Demi Moore. Here are some venerable colleagues Jackson joins: Sylvester Stallone leads his own crime family in 'Tulsa King' Stallone, who celebrated his 79th birthday on July 6, has a hit "Tulsa King" series as the gruff-but-lovable New York mobster in Oklahoma. The actor joined the neo-Western series for its first season in 2018. The veteran actor returned to lead a Westward-bound wagon train as Shea Brennan in the 2021 "Yellowstone" prequel series "1883." Elliott joins "Landman" in an unspecified role for Season 2. Samuel L. Jackson Set to Star in TULSA KING Spinoff Series NOLA KING at Paramount+ — GeekTyrant

Paramount+ is expanding Taylor Sheridan's criminal underworld universe again, this time with Samuel L. Jackson leading the series. According to Variety, a Tulsa King spinoff titled NOLA King is in development, with Jackson set to star and executive produce. The new series will shift the story's focus from Oklahoma to New Orleans, with Jackson playing a character said to mirror Sylvester Stallone's Dwight 'The General' Manfredi. But before NOLA King takes center stage, Jackson will reportedly appear in Tulsa King Season 3, setting up his role in the spinoff. Details about his character remain under wraps, but you can probably expect the kind of commanding presence Jackson brings to just about every role he's ever taken. NOLA King is being written and showrun by Dave Erickson, who already collaborates with Sheridan on both Tulsa King and Mayor of Kingstown . Erickson will also executive produce alongside Sheridan and David C. Glasser of 101 Studios. Production duties are being handled by MTV Entertainment Studios. Jackson needs no introduction. His resume speaks for itself, an Oscar-nominated turn in Pulp Fiction , collaborations with Tarantino on Jackie Brown , Django Unchained , and The Hateful Eight , not to mention his long-running role as Nick Fury in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. On the TV side, Jackson recently starred in Apple TV+'s The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey and is set to appear in Fight Night . The original Tulsa King , led by Stallone, follows a New York mob capo who's sent to Oklahoma after a 25-year prison stint and decides to build his own empire from the ground up. It quickly became another hit for Sheridan, thanks to its setting, sharp writing, and Stallone's grizzled charm. NOLA King is shaping up to be a promising companion series, one that could bring a new flavor of organized crime to the franchise. I like the the series is set deep in the gothic heart of Louisiana. Production on Tulsa King Season 3 is currently underway in Atlanta and Oklahoma.
