NOPD looking for robbery suspect who struck at ATM
NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The New Orleans Police Department is trying to identify and arrest a suspect who is accused of robbing someone at gunpoint while at an ATM. The case is the latest one to roll on the Wheel of Justice. According to police, the robbery happened around 1:30 a.m. on May 14 in the 3300 block of Canal Street. They say a man who was wearing dark clothing and a mask stole the victim's money and ID. Police released security camera footage that shows the robber and his cap. They hope someone will see the logos and recognize the robber. NOPD: Robber used RTA bus for getaway
NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The New Orleans Police Department is trying to identify and arrest a man who is accused of committing an armed robbery then leaving the scene in an RTA bus. The case is the latest one to roll on the Wheel of Justice. According to police, the robbery happened around 4:50 a.m. on June 4 in the 4100 block of Chef Menteur Highway. Police also released some security camera images that show the alleged suspect. NOPD looking for robbery suspect who struck at ATM Police said the robber wore all-black clothing and used a gun to rob his victim. Police did not say what was stolen. The security camera footage includes images of the man waiting to get onto the bus after the robbery as well as paying the fare. Police also say a tattoo on the man's right arm could help identify him. Nine years later, Algiers murder on Kent Drive remains unsolved
NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — On June 26, 2016, the New Orleans Police Department was called to a shooting scene in the 2800 block of Kent Drive in Algiers. Officers found a man who'd been shot multiple times. He died at the scene. Nine years later, the murder remains unsolved. It's the latest case to roll on the Wheel of Justice. Shortly after the crime, police announced they were looking for a dark-colored SUV, but the case went cold from there. The victim was identified as 38-year-old Errol Gant. Two dead in Lower Ninth Ward homicide investigation
NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Two people are dead following a reported shooting incident that occurred in the Lower Ninth Ward of New Orleans in the early morning hours of Saturday, June 28. According to the New Orleans Police Department, the shooting, which happened in the 500 block of Delery Street, had officers on scene, investigating, around 12:38 a.m. Boil water advisory issued in New Orleans after 30″ main break On arrival, police say they found an unknown man down the street with multiple gunshot wounds. Another man was found elsewhere on the property, also suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. They were both pronounced dead on scene. The cause and details surrounding the shooting is still being investigated by police. Identities and causes of death for the victims will be released by the coroner's office after their families are notified. Antoine Massey captured after New Orleans jailbreak
NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — 33-year-old Antoine Massey has been captured after 10 people escaped from the Orleans Justice Center over a month prior, on May 16. Confirmation of Massey's capture was provided by the U.S. Marshal's Office, with the inmate reportedly being found on Stroelitz Street in the Hollygrove neighborhood thanks to a tip that came from Crimestoppers. Officials with the Louisiana State Police say he will be taken to a correctional facility outside of the area. At the time of the escape he was facing charges of domestic abuse battery involving strangulation, theft of a motor vehicle and parole violation. More charges may follow his arrest. Convent man facing life sentence in 2021 fatal shooting case Homeland Security, the New Orleans Police Department, the Orleans Parish Sheriff's Office, Louisiana State Police, US Marshalls and the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office were all involved in the arrest. With Massey's capture, only one alleged escapee, Derrick Groves, remains on the run.
