Vice Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen NS Raja Subramani launches 'Vendor Registration Application'

New Delhi [India], June 26 (ANI): Vice Chief of the Army Staff, Lieutenant General NS Raja Subramani, on Thursday, launched a 'Vendor Registration Application' developed by the Indian Army in collaboration with Bhaskaracharya Institute for Space Applications and Geo-informatics (BISAG-N). In a post on X, the Additional Directorate General of Public Information, IHQ of MoD (Army) said, 'Lieutenant General NS Raja Subramani, #VCOAS today launched a 'Vendor Registration Application' developed by Indian Army in collaboration with #BISAG-N. It offers a secure & digitised solution for Army Purchase Organisation Vendors for their registration process.' 'By Leveraging Blockchain technology, the portal revolutionises the vendor registration process by replacing the traditional time consuming manual procedures involving multiple layers of physical verification, paperworks and follow ups with a fully online automated platform. The application offers a new era of transparency and simplifies ease of doing business with minimal human intervention,' it added. As per a note shared in the X post, the app has been built as an interface between vendors and the Army Purchase Organisation in alignment with the Indian Army's Year of Transformation. 'Welcome to a new era of transparency and efficiency across Army Purchase Organisation. Today, we are proud to introduce the Vendor Registration Application. Developed in collaboration between Directorate General of Supplies and Transport and BISAG-N. In alignment with the Year of Transformation, the application leverages the power of blockchain to revolutionise the interface between vendors and Army Purchase Organisation,' the note by ADGPI read. According to the note, it was emphasised that this innovative platform ensures that every interaction is secure, transparent, immutable and provenance-ready. 'With a user-friendly interface, vendors can easily apply online and track their application status in real time, alongwith the capability to submit redressals and rectify any observations concurrently while obtaining insight into upcoming tenders,' it said. 'No more lengthy paperwork or bureaucratic delays. Alongside simplifying the registration process, the site also emboldens the scrutiny process through API based verifications from Single Sources of Truth across various domains like FSSAI, GST, Global Standards 1, Trademark Auth and ULIP providing accurate and updated information,' the note read. This step was taken to foster a diverse vendor ecosystem and encourage small businesses into the supply chain. 'We aim to foster a diverse vendor ecosystem and incubate increased participation in ration contracts of the entire Indian Army. This platform opens the doors for small businesses and innovative startups in building a robust and more resilient digital supply chain across the Army Service Corps. The application is not just a tool but a commitment to transparency and accountability thus, upholding ASC Corps Credo, 'Seva Asmakam Dharma' and streamline system, processes and functions as per COAS pillars of transformation,' the ADGPI note said. New Delhi, June 21 (UNI) More than nine lakh cadets of National Cadet Corps (NCC) participated in synchronised yoga sessions at iconic locations across the country to celebrate 11th International Day of Yoga on Saturday, epitomising the nation's unwavering commitment to health and wellness. Yoga events were held from Leh in the North to Kanyakumari in the South and from Dwarka in the West to Tezu in the East. These events took place at some of India's most iconic and scenic landmarks including Triveni Ghats of Rishikesh, Marina Beach, Chennai, Statue of Unity Gujarat, Shanti Stupa, Leh, Banks of the Brahmaputra, Guwahati and Dal Lake, J&K, as well as in public parks, schools, and colleges across the country, a Defence Ministry statement said. In Delhi, Vice Chief of the Army Staff Lieutenant General NS Raja Subramani performed yoga with troops and families at the Cariappa Parade Ground. Over 3,400 participants, including defence attachés from 25 countries, NCC cadets, school children, and Army families participated in the event. Through the meticulous organisation of this event, the NCC has exemplified its steadfast commitment to promoting health and fitness across the nation. The extensive participation of cadets demonstrated that these principles are profoundly instilled in India's youth, underscoring the NCC's pivotal role in nation-building. New Delhi [India], June 12 (ANI): Lieutenant General BKGM Lasantha Rodrigo, Commander of the Sri Lankan Army, is officially visiting India from 11th to 14th June 2025. This visit is set to enhance bilateral military cooperation and explore new avenues for collaboration, particularly in the areas of training and capability enhancement, said a statement from Ministry of Defence on Wednesday. It underscores the continued efforts of both nations to further strengthen and deepen their longstanding defence partnership. The first day of the visit began with a solemn wreath-laying ceremony at the National War Memorial in New Delhi. Lieutenant General BKGM Lasantha Rodrigo paid tribute to the brave soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to the nation. Following the wreath-laying, Lieutenant General BKGM Lasantha Rodrigo was given a formal Guard of Honour in the South Block Lawns. The ceremonial event, attended by senior officials of the Indian Army, marked a significant gesture of respect and a symbol of the enduring friendship between the two nations. The Guard of Honour was followed by a series of high-level meetings beginning with an in-depth interaction with Lieutenant General NS Raja Subramani, Vice Chief of the Army Staff of the Indian Army. Both the military leaders discussed wide-ranging issues, including aspects of bilateral defence cooperation and regional security concerns. Later, Lieutenant General BKGM Lasantha Rodrigo was briefed on Operation Sindoor and India's security perspective. He was also briefed by other senior officers of the Indian Army on matters of mutual interest. Lieutenant General BKGM Lasantha Rodrigo thereafter met Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi, Chief of the Naval Staff, Air Chief Marshal Amar Preet Singh, Chief of Air Staff and Rajesh Kumar Singh, Defence Secretary. These meetings provided an opportunity for the exchange of views on broader defence and security issues, focusing on matters of mutual interest. Lieutenant General BKGM Lasantha Rodrigo also planted a tree at the Manekshaw Centre, symbolising the time-tested relationship of the Indian and Sri Lankan Armies. On 12th June 2025, Lieutenant General BKGM Lasantha Rodrigo is scheduled to visit Jaipur and meet Lieutenant General Manjinder Singh, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, South Western Command. The General Officer will grace the Passing Out Parade at the Indian Military Academy (IMA), Dehradun, as the Reviewing Officer on 14th June 2025. This visit will mark a poignant return to his alma mater, where he was commissioned in December 1990, with the 87th Course of the IMA- an experience that laid the foundation of his illustrious military career. His presence at the Academy will rekindle memories of his formative years, now brought full circle as he would review a new generation of officers. Adding a personal and emotional dimension to the ceremony, Brigadier RMSP Rathnayake of Sri Lanka Army, will also be in attendance to witness his son, Foreign Officer Cadet RMNL Rathnayake, being commissioned with the current course. This confluence of legacy and leadership underscores the enduring spirit of camaraderie and leadership connect between the two Armies. Lieutenant General BKGM Lasantha Rodrigo's visit to India is marked by a series of productive engagements, aimed at furthering the defence relationship between Sri Lanka and India. New Delhi [India], June 9 (ANI): Air Force Commander of the Namibian Air Force, Air Vice Marshal Teofilus Shaende, called on the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal AP Singh, in New Delhi on Monday and discussed means to further enhance cooperation between air forces of two nations. The two officials also discussed issues of mutual interest. The Namibian delegation will be visiting an Air Force Base in Bengaluru, where they will be briefed on the capabilities of Make in India Weapon Systems. In a post on X, the Indian Air Force - Media Co-ordination Centre stated, 'Air Vice Marshal Teofilus Shaende, Air Force Commander of the Namibian Air Force called on the Chief of the Air Staff of the IAF in New Delhi today. Issues of mutual interest & means to further enhance cooperation between the two Air Forces were discussed during the meeting. The Namibian delegation will also be visiting an Air Force Base at Bengaluru, where they will be briefed on the capabilities of Make in India Weapon Systems.' India was among the first nations to raise the question of Namibian independence in the UN. After Namibian independence, the Indian Observer Mission was upgraded to a full-fledged High Commission on 21 March 1990. Namibia opened a full-fledged resident Mission in New Delhi in March 1994, according to the statement. The 4th round of India-Namibia Foreign Office Consultations took place in Windhoek in 2022.
