When Kildare fired over the first four points of the match in the opening ten minutes of Saturday night's All-Ireland SFC quarter-final, it appeared that Mark Bourke and his Kerry ladies squad might be in for an uncomfortable evening.
However, once the home side settled into their task, and a brace of goals from Síofra O'Shea enabled the Kingdom to move into a four-point lead by half-time, 2-5 to 0-7, the second half was an exercise in game management as the reigning champions advanced to the last four.
