1 2 3 Patna: Road construction minister, Nitin Nabin, chaired a meeting on Wednesday to review ongoing development projects in the East and West Champaran districts. The meeting focused on several significant infrastructure initiatives, including the ambitious Bettiah-Patna high-speed corridor. A key highlight of the discussion was the proposed Raxaul-Haldia six-lane expressway, a project estimated to cost Rs 39,600 crore. The minister said, "The expressway will be an access-controlled highway, allowing vehicle entry only through designated points, ensuring safer travel conditions. Designed for vehicles to operate at speeds up to 120 km per hour, the project aims to boost trade, provide safer travel options, and generate employment opportunities." Other projects reviewed during the meeting included the construction of a major bridge over the Gandak river, realignment of NH-727 outside the Valmiki Tiger Reserve, and development of a four-lane section from Bagaha to Bettiah.
