The two resolved their conflicts last year and are now working together on two projects – Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri and Nagzilla. However, how did Kartik and KJo end their fight? In a recent interview, the filmmaker opened up about the same when he told Bollywood Hungama, 'We internally discussed it, worked it out, and we let bygones be bygones. And Kartik is an immensely hardworking, very connected big star today who has a wide audience base, has a great instinct on screenplay. He and I met, collaborated, decided to come together. It was all kosher, all lovely." 'And I've had, he's had, we've all had our issues with each other. But it's a tiny industry, which I call a family. And I believe that within a family, sometimes there are complaints, but at the end of the day, you know, good people want to make good films and come together to create good content," Karan added and then concluded by saying, 'As I said, we don't sweat the small stuff. We have the larger vision to look at." For the unversed, in 2021, Kartik Aaryan and Karan Johar had a major fallout. The former was dropped from the filmmaker's Dostana 2. The film was supposed to feature Kartik alongside Janhvi Kapoor. Even though the shooting of the movie had already begun, Kartik was removed from it. The rumours about Kartik's 'unprofessional" behaviour upsetting KJo surfaced online. However, on Kartik's 33rd birthday in 2023, Karan Johar ended their fight. He took to his official Instagram account to announce a movie with the actor. Later, Kartik was also speaking to Lallantop when he opened up about his fallout with KJo and said, 'I was silent when the news came about and I choose to stay silent even now. I am 100% focused on my work and when controversies of such nature happen, I stay calm about them. In 2021, filmmaker Karan Johar and actor Kartik Aaryan reportedly had a fallout, which led to Kartik's exit from Dostana 2. However, the two buried the hatchet three years later by joining hands for the comedy film Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri. In a recent interview with Bollywood Hungama, Karan revealed what led to the reconciliation. The filming of the project came to a standstill due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and later, the production house announced that the cast would be reconsidered — marking Kartik's exit. Soon after, reports of a fallout between Karan and Kartik surfaced. However, they have since reconciled. Kartik will be seen in the romantic comedy Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri, which also stars Ananya Panday. The actors are currently shooting for the film. Helmed by Sameer Vidwans, who earlier directed Kartik in SatyaPrem Ki Katha, the film is backed by Karan Johar and is scheduled to release in theatres on February 13, 2026. He also has another film titled Nagzilla, set to release in cinemas on August 14, 2026.

On Tuesday night, he posted a short video clip in which he could be seen giving a glimpse of a scenic location from the plane. "Here we go (a Korean emoji heart) Tu Meri Main Tera, Main Tera Tu Meri," he captioned the post, expressing excitement about the film. ANI has learnt that Kartik has headed to Europe for the shooting of the 'Tu Meri Main Tera, Main Tera Tu Meri'. The film, a romantic comedy, is set to hit theaters on February 13, 2026, just in time for Valentine's Day. The movie, directed by Sameer Vidwans, marks Kartik Aaryan's second collaboration with the director, following their work on 'Satyaprem Ki Katha'. It is produced under the banner of Dharma Productions. The plot details are still under wraps. In the coming months, Kartik will also be seen in 'Nagzilla' directed by 'Fukrey' fame director Mrighdeep Singh Lamba. Announcing the film, Kartik recently took to Instagram and shared his first look. The motion poster featured a shirtless Kartik looking at a city from a snake-infested lair. Vikrant Massey in Karan Johar's Dostana 2 after Kartik Aaryan's exit: Report
After much speculation and a long wait, Karan Johar's 'Dostana 2' is back in the spotlight with a new lead actor. The much-anticipated sequel to the 2008 hit 'Dostana' has faced delays and controversy, especially following the reported fallout between Dharma Productions and actor Kartik Aaryan. Now, fresh reports suggest that Vikrant Massey has stepped in to headline the to a report by Pinkvilla, Massey will be joining actor Lakshya in the film, which is said to also feature a debutant female actor in the lead. While an official announcement is still awaited, the report states that the makers are aiming to begin shooting in January 2026, with a theatrical release slated for the end of the same source close to the development told the news portal, "Dostana 2 has been in development at Dharma for a while, and the makers have cracked a perfect script that can carry the franchise forward in a progressive manner. Dostana 2 will feature Vikrant Massey with Lakshya, and will mark the launchpad of a debutant as the female lead. The makers are aiming to take the film on floors in January 2026, and release it at the end of next year." The film, currently in the planning stages, is expected to be directed by a filmmaker who will be finalised in the coming weeks. 'Dostana 2 is being conceptualised as a theatrical film, with music, comedy, romance, and drama. Talks are on with the filmmakers, and a director will be locked in a fortnight," the source original casting of 'Dostana 2' included Kartik Aaryan and Janhvi Kapoor. However, in 2021, Dharma Productions confirmed that they would be 'recasting' the film after Kartik's departure. The actor later addressed the issue in 2024, revealing his side of the story, but the production house remained tight-lipped about the both actors have moved on to other projects. Kartik Aaryan will next be seen in Anurag Basu's untitled film and Karan Johar's 'Nagzilla'. Vikrant Massey, on the other hand, is having a busy run, currently working on the Sri Sri Ravi Shankar biopic and 'Don 3', which are expected to wrap by the end of for Dharma Productions, the banner is gearing up for multiple releases, including 'Dhadak 2' and 'Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsikumari' in 2026, while also preparing to launch 'Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri' and 'Nagzilla' - both projects headlined by Kartik Aaryan - this year.
