Location Managers Guild Int'l nominates Egypt Film Commission
LMGI president John Rakich and Nancy Haecker are chairing the 2025 awards committee.
The Location Managers Guild International (LMGI) has revealed the nominees for its Annual LMGI Awards, scheduled for Saturday, August 23, 2025, at The Eli and Edythe Broad Stage in Santa Monica, California. The awards recognise the outstanding creative contributions of location professionals whose work brings visual depth and authenticity to film, television, commercials and special projects around the world.
This year's competition drew a record number of submissions, underscoring the growing appreciation for how locations enrich storytelling. Among the top contenders are Oscar Best Picture and Palme d'Or winner Anora, the blockbuster Sinners, and Netflix's breakout limited series Adolescence.
Five film commissions have been recognised for their contributions, including the Egypt Film Commission for Fountain of Youth, British Columbia Film Commission/Creative BC for The Last of Us, the City of Toronto Film Office for The Handmaid's Tale, Film New Orleans for Sinners, Montana Film Office for 1923, and New Jersey Motion Picture & Television Commission for A Complete Unknown.
In the film categories, nominees for Outstanding Locations in a Contemporary Feature include Anora, A Real Pain, Conclave, Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, and Twisters. Period feature nominees span productions such as The Apprentice, A Complete Unknown, Fly Me to the Moon, Gladiator II, I'm Still Here, and Sinners.
Television contenders for contemporary series include The Last of Us Season 2, The Day of the Jackal, Landman, Mobland, Slow Horses Season 4, and The Studio. In the period television category, 1923 Season 2, Dark Winds Season 3, Godfather of Harlem Season 4, Hotel Portofino Season 3, One Hundred Years of Solitude, and The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon Season 2 will compete for honors.
Limited series and anthology nominations feature Adolescence, American Primeval, Dope Thief, Lockerbie: A Search for Truth, The Penguin, and The White Lotus Season 3.
Outstanding Commercial nominees include memorable campaigns such as Army National Guard's Uncommon is Calling, Blizzard Entertainment's Diablo IV: Vessel of Hatred, Disney's Lilo & Stitch Super Bowl ad, Belmond's Orient Express: Artisan of Travel, and Stella Artois' 'David & Dave.'
The 2025 LMGI Awards Committee is chaired by LMGI President John Rakich and Nancy Haecker. IngleDodd Media and Erick Weiss of Honeysweet Creative return as producers for the ceremony, which will celebrate the artistry and impact of location professionals who help shape some of the world's most compelling screen stories.
