Success left me feeling trapped, says Tyla

Tyla felt "trapped" following the success of Water. The 23-year-old singer released her chart-topping single in 2023, and Tyla admits that the success of the track changed her life. She told The Sun newspaper at a Q and A in London: "For a while, especially last year, I felt so trapped. "Like, 'Oh my word, I blew up and I just have to have everything right and everything has to be perfect now because the world is looking.' "It was kind of stressful for me." Tyla recently released We Wanna Party, her debut mixtape, and she relished the experience of being able to "experiment" with new sounds and ideas. She explained: "I wasn't planning on doing this. I was just making music at the beginning of the year. It was mainly for an album. "But as I got closer to summer, I was like, 'Hey the songs I was making were too good ... where are the summer songs? "We need some summer songs right now' and I am just too excited to hold on to them. I really just want people to hear it and party to it, and see how I've grown through the years and just see who I am now." Tyla actually thinks having "a little bit of arrogance" has helped her to navigate the stresses of the music industry. She said: "I just always knew I had something in me. "I just always had that kind of peace knowing that this is the life I'm gonna live. "I don't let anybody or anything limit me or put me in a box. I think I'm just confident. "A lot of people say arrogant, but I think everyone needs a little bit of arrogance, especially to make it in this industry and to make people believe in your music. "If you're not that proud and you don't believe in your stuff as strongly as you should, why would someone else?" Meanwhile, Tyla previously admitted that fame has robbed her of a normal life, meaning she can't go anywhere without security. The singer told British Vogue magazine: "Sometimes I even cry over it. I just miss being able to walk. Or sit in the park. Or go to Nando's."

Something on the side? Nando's pokes fun at Astronomer CEO

Nando's has done it again with another hilarious social media post, this time mocking Astronomer CEO Andy Byron who was recently caught cosying up to his alleged mistress during a Coldplay concert. While Nando's originated from South Africa, its Australian counterpart took a page out of its book with a cheeky advert. In an Instagram post, the flame-grilled chicken restaurant ran a promotion that poked fun at Astronomer CEO, Andy Byron. The ad read, 'Little something on the side? Enter Coldplay for a free regular side with any main.' View this post on Instagram A post shared by Nando's ANZ (@nandosaus) In a clip that broke the internet last week, Byron was caught canoodling with an employee, Kristin Cabot, during a Coldplay concert. Byron is a married man whose wife's name is Megan Kerrigan Byron. Lead singer Chris Martin said of the awkward moment: 'Either they're having an affair or they're very shy.' Meanwhile, Astronomer – the DataOps company Andy Byron worked for – has responded to the social media storm with a cheeky video of their own. In the clip, an unexpected guest – Gwyneth Paltrow, the ex-wife of Coldplay lead singer Chris Martin – made an appearance. In it, she tackled several 'burning questions' about the company and the scandal. Claiming that she had been 'hired on a temporary basis' in a PR post, Paltrow said: 'Astronomer has gotten a lot of questions over the last few days – and they wanted me to answer the most common ones.' The Hollywood actress went on to indirectly answer a few spoof questions about what had happened. 'We'll now be returning to what we do best: delivering game-changing results for our customers,' she added. The video comes after Andy Byron stepped down from his post as Astronomer CEO amid the backlash. Let us know by leaving a comment below, or send a WhatsApp to 060 011 021 1 . Taking to TikTok, Nando's waiter Mal shared a snap of the proposal, which he recorded whilst serving the couple. "POV: When he does the bare minimum proposal at Nando's", Mal said. In the video, Mal can be seen carrying a plate of mayonnaise over to the couple. Written in curly mayo writing is the misspelt phrase: "Will you mary me?" Mal then gave the woman at the table the ring, whilst her partner can be seen smiling and not saying a word, assumedly too shy to pop the question himself. He doesn't stand up, or even get down on one knee, with Mal revealing that his legs "curled round that chair." The waiter said that the woman was left extremely perplexed by the unique proposal, and was unsure how to respond. He said that she sat confused for 10 minutes, before finally saying yes to the proposal. However, he added that they didn't even kiss after agreeing to spend the rest of their lives together, and instead just chose to hug. Love Island stars slam Dejon over 'worst exclusive proposal in show history' "He could have put way more thought into it", Mal critiqued, adding that the man had even turned up late to the proposal. The video, posted to Mal's TikTok account (@micmanmal5), has quickly gone viral, racking up 1.2 million views in just 24 hours. TikTok users raced to the comments section to share their thoughts, with many left unimpressed. One person said: "It literally doesn't cost a thing to get down on one knee and propose. How to ace a proposal Thinking of proposing? Follow this checklist by Fabulous' Deputy Editor Josie Griffiths to ensure a yes… Time it right - the average Brit waits between 18 months and two years to get engaged. But you might feel ready after six months, or decide to wait five plus years to pop the question. Only you truly know when the time's right, and this isn't a decision you want to rush. Falling in love might feel amazing but of course most relationships DON'T end in marriage - and this is for good reason… Pay attention - hopefully you haven't reached the point yet of your frustrated partner leaving their laptop open with 'hints' for rings they like. Ideally you'll want the ring to be a secret, but also something they'd happily wear - and for the rest of their life, so just a TEENY bit of pressure here. You need to be paying attention to any comments your partner makes about other people's rings, what they do and don't like, and what's most important to them - size, clarity, specific details. If you're really unsure, or if your partner hates surprises, it's best to propose with a dummy and then buy the real thing together. Family matters - tradition dictates that you ask the dad's permission for his daughter's hand in marriage, but it's not so straightforward nowadays. Maybe your partner's closer to their step-dad, or wants her mum to walk her down the aisle, in which case you'd be better off chatting to them. Maybe they'd find it weird if you went to their parents first, in which case you could ditch the whole thing. Or perhaps they're closer to their friends and the best idea would be letting your partner's best mate pick the ring. These things do matter and could come back to bite you if handled in the wrong way. Plan the setting - does your partner dread being centre of attention, or are they someone who'd be gutted if you proposed at home, berating you forever for a lack of 'effort'? Plan the place for your perfect proposal - how busy it'll be, whether you'll be able to get a good pic there, and other logistics around it. A proposal at the top of a mountain might sound good in theory but your girlfriend might not actually appreciate it when there's sweat dripping down her forehead and she's not wearing the cute dress she'd imagined for the pictures. Personally, I can't think of anything worse than a public proposal where everyone's waiting to hear your answer - in a group of friends, the middle of a restaurant or with an announcement at an event. So bear all of this in mind and remember, it's meant to be about what THEY want, not you. "You can do it in Nandos, sure, but at least get down on one knee and tell her why you want to marry her." A second person said: "Immediately, no. "The least he could do is stand up." A third said: "Absolutely not." A fourth added: "Gonna be honest here. I would pass him."
