‘Absolutely not, immediately no' people cry as man proposes in Nando's with the big question written in mayonnaise

A MAN has been slated for his unconventional wedding proposal, after popping the big question to his beau by writing it out in mayonnaise. We all dream of a romantic proposal, with some choosing to take their partner to an exotic location, or share an intimate moment at home. 2 However, one man decided to take a very unique approach to popping the question, after taking his girlfriend out to their local Nando's. Taking to TikTok, Nando's waiter Mal shared a snap of the proposal, which he recorded whilst serving the couple. "POV: When he does the bare minimum proposal at Nando's", Mal said. In the video, Mal can be seen carrying a plate of mayonnaise over to the couple. Written in curly mayo writing is the misspelt phrase: "Will you mary me?" Mal then gave the woman at the table the ring, whilst her partner can be seen smiling and not saying a word, assumedly too shy to pop the question himself. He doesn't stand up, or even get down on one knee, with Mal revealing that his legs "curled round that chair." The waiter said that the woman was left extremely perplexed by the unique proposal, and was unsure how to respond. He said that she sat confused for 10 minutes, before finally saying yes to the proposal. However, he added that they didn't even kiss after agreeing to spend the rest of their lives together, and instead just chose to hug. Love Island stars slam Dejon over 'worst exclusive proposal in show history' "He could have put way more thought into it", Mal critiqued, adding that the man had even turned up late to the proposal. The video, posted to Mal's TikTok account (@micmanmal5), has quickly gone viral, racking up 1.2 million views in just 24 hours. TikTok users raced to the comments section to share their thoughts, with many left unimpressed. One person said: "It literally doesn't cost a thing to get down on one knee and propose. How to ace a proposal Thinking of proposing? Follow this checklist by Fabulous' Deputy Editor Josie Griffiths to ensure a yes… Time it right - the average Brit waits between 18 months and two years to get engaged. But you might feel ready after six months, or decide to wait five plus years to pop the question. Only you truly know when the time's right, and this isn't a decision you want to rush. Falling in love might feel amazing but of course most relationships DON'T end in marriage - and this is for good reason… Pay attention - hopefully you haven't reached the point yet of your frustrated partner leaving their laptop open with 'hints' for rings they like. Ideally you'll want the ring to be a secret, but also something they'd happily wear - and for the rest of their life, so just a TEENY bit of pressure here. You need to be paying attention to any comments your partner makes about other people's rings, what they do and don't like, and what's most important to them - size, clarity, specific details. If you're really unsure, or if your partner hates surprises, it's best to propose with a dummy and then buy the real thing together. Family matters - tradition dictates that you ask the dad's permission for his daughter's hand in marriage, but it's not so straightforward nowadays. Maybe your partner's closer to their step-dad, or wants her mum to walk her down the aisle, in which case you'd be better off chatting to them. Maybe they'd find it weird if you went to their parents first, in which case you could ditch the whole thing. Or perhaps they're closer to their friends and the best idea would be letting your partner's best mate pick the ring. These things do matter and could come back to bite you if handled in the wrong way. Plan the setting - does your partner dread being centre of attention, or are they someone who'd be gutted if you proposed at home, berating you forever for a lack of 'effort'? Plan the place for your perfect proposal - how busy it'll be, whether you'll be able to get a good pic there, and other logistics around it. A proposal at the top of a mountain might sound good in theory but your girlfriend might not actually appreciate it when there's sweat dripping down her forehead and she's not wearing the cute dress she'd imagined for the pictures. Personally, I can't think of anything worse than a public proposal where everyone's waiting to hear your answer - in a group of friends, the middle of a restaurant or with an announcement at an event. So bear all of this in mind and remember, it's meant to be about what THEY want, not you. "You can do it in Nandos, sure, but at least get down on one knee and tell her why you want to marry her." A second person said: "Immediately, no. "The least he could do is stand up." A third said: "Absolutely not." A fourth added: "Gonna be honest here. I would pass him."

Nando's reveals menu shake-up with three new additions

Nando's has brought back one of its previously discontinued sauces due to popular demand. The Peri-Peri restaurant gave customers the chance to bring back any sauce or, for the first time, create a flavour to bring into UK locations. However, instead of voting for a new recipe, it was the brand's Garlic BBQ that won the vote. Customers had the chance to enter their recipe idea or vote for an old sauce from May 13 until June 17 by heading to the website or scanning the QR code on the in-restaurant menu. The public crowned Garlic BBQ the winner, and Nando's have now introduced the winner on the Peri-ometer in all UK and Ireland restaurants for the summer. Garlic BBQ received thousands of votes, with diners keen to taste the smoky sauce once again. Close runners up included Mango & Lime in second place followed by Smoky Churrasco in third. At the same time, the restaurant has also introduced a new item, the Super Caesar Wrap, which includes Caesar salad, pulled chicken, croutons, lettuce, pickles, and dressing. There's also a new addition for young visitors, with Nando's now offering a new and improved Nandino Burger with grilled chicken. It comes after Nando's revealed one of its secret menu orders - and made it a permanent feature for all to access. The Peri-Peri chicken restaurant unveiled a new way for UK fans to devour its famous wings, which was, up until now, a secret item. The latest offering, Extra Saucy Wings, is cooked with Peri-Flamer, a sauce that was previously only available to those who knew to ask for it. Peri-Flamer offers sweet, smoky, and spicy flavors, and according to Nando's, the sauce has built up a cult-following in recent years, despite not being listed on the menu. The restaurant chain, which hails from South Africa, has now introduced Extra Saucy Wings on the menu, allowing fans to enjoy the new Peri-Flamer addition. Customers can order three, five, or ten, flame-grilled chicken wings covered in the new sauce and finished off with a drizzle of creamy yogurt dressing. Nando's are also giving customers the chance to claim Extra Saucy Wings for free on Nando's Rewards. Extra Saucy Wings launched in all UK and Ireland stores earlier this year, and are available for dining in, collection, and delivery. Nando's answered the prayers of their diehard fans just a few months before with the return of a much-loved sauce . A trip to the Peri-Peri chicken restaurant isn't complete without lashings of its famous sauce. But for the past five years, Nando's aficionados have complained that their favourite creamy option isn't available. However, the chain revealed that from 4 February, locations in the UK and Ireland relaunched the Creamy Salad Dressing. The rich and garlicky sauce is said to be a match with most items on the menu, including Peri-Salted chips and spicy rice. The change comes after Nando's faced backlash for removing the sauce from restaurants in 2021, with upset fans protesting the decision - and even making a petition to bring it back . Nando's is well known for its Peri-Peri chicken and sauces with varying spice levels, which range from Lemon & Herb, Medium, Hot, and Extra Hot, plus others. The chain previously brought back guest spices like Mango & Lime for a limited time, but the return of Creamy Salad Dressing is a permanent change. It comes after Bukayo Saka brought his ferocity and flair from football into the kitchen - by launching his very own Nando's sauce. The Arsenal star teamed up with the restaurant chain to produce the 'Peri-Peri Saka Sauce' with his most-loved flavors in March last year. The 23-year-old opted for smoky BBQ and tomato alongside the restaurant's Peri-Peri sauce. Accessible but daring with a medium heat, it is also packed with garlic and smoked paprika. Saka said: 'The sauce mixes sweet, spiciness and smokiness. 'I love it and can't wait for everyone to try it. I've been going to Nando's since I was little so to have my own Peri-Peri sauce in every restaurant in the country is quite mad! 'My family's really important to me so I wanted to make sure they liked it, too. As soon as my Dad said he was a fan, I knew it was the one.' It was available in every restaurant around the UK and Ireland for a limited period of time. A brief film produced by Nando's showed the 23-year-old helping out in the kitchen as chefs concocted his dream sauce. The winger linked up with an Arsenal chef to put it all together, bringing the chemistry that is coursing through the Emirates into the kitchen. Even the bottle received unique attention. Reuben Dangoor, the man who designed the artwork wrapping around the Emirates Stadium, brought Saka's vision to life with a vibrant bottle.

Aussie icons spin off hilarious Coldplay ‘kiss cam' content

The Coldplay 'kiss cam' scandal has taken the world by storm, even government departments and a hugely popular restaurant are using the content to promote their own products. The awkward images at Coldplay's Boston show on Wednesday evening of Astronomer CEO Andy Byron intimately hugging his company's head of HR Kristin Cabot on a roaming 'kiss cam' went instantly viral. Having realised they were being filmed, Cabot darted out of Byron's arms and turned her back while the chief executive ducked down out of sight, causing Coldplay frontman Chris Martin to joke on-stage that they must be 'having an affair.' It's since surfaced that both Byron and Cabot are married to other people, resulting in CEO Andy Byron to be Australia's most Googled search on Friday. Nandos has opened up a promotion to Aussies in the spirit of Byron and Cabot's alleged affair, emailing customers to ask if they wanted a 'Little something on the side?' Nandos emailed their customers to promote a new deal related to the Coldplay 'kiss cam' incident. It's not just hospitality businesses cashing in on the viral trend, the Department of Fire and Emergency Services is also using it to publicise the blustery weather that's hitting WA this weekend. 'Looks like it's not just the Coldplay concert that's getting wild,' DFES captioned a post about the weather this weekend which featured a picture of a WA weather map overlayed with a screen grab of Byron and Cabot's shocked faces.
