Minister Lokesh honours ‘Shining Teacher'

Undavalli: Minister for education and IT Nara Lokesh emphasised the sacred responsibility of teachers in strengthening government education. He said that the first year of reforms in the education department is complete, and the government is now solely focused on strengthening government schools. Going forward, the primary focus will be on student learning outcomes. Minister Lokesh extended a special felicitation to M Kalyani Kumari, a teacher from a remote tribal village, JM Thanda in Pattikonda mandal, Kurnool district on Tuesday. She was honored with the title 'Shining Teacher ' at his residence here, accompanied by her family, in recognition of her exceptional dedication and results at the single-teacher primary school. Kalyani Kumari, who was transferred to the JM Thanda Mandal Parishad single-teacher primary school in 2017, has transformed the school's landscape through her unwavering dedication, shaping students into high achievers. She serves as an inspiration for all teachers. Upon her arrival, the school had only 14 students from grades one to five, with only two attending regularly. There was even a point when the school was considered for closure. After taking charge, Kalyani Kumari utilised her own funds to provide study materials and worked diligently to improve the school's infrastructure. Her tireless efforts and door-to-door visits successfully re-instilled faith in government schools among parents. As a result, the student enrollment increased to 53 by the academic year 2020-21, with students from neighboring villages also beginning to enroll. Notably, 23 of her students gained admission into Gurukulams (residential schools), and one secured a spot in the prestigious Navodaya School. Currently, the school has 43 students. During his meeting with the 'Shining Teacher,' minister Nara Lokesh adopted the role of a student, respectfully seeking advice and suggestions from Kalyani Kumari on measures to strengthen government schools. He assured her that these recommendations would be implemented. She also implemented the 'Deerghayushman Bhava' (Long Live) tradition, where on a student's birthday the teacher presents them with a bar of soap to encourage personal hygiene. He emphasized that Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, and other ministers are focused on building trust in government schools. Minister Lokesh said he would continue to meet with and seek advice from excellent teachers in the future. Kalyani Kumari expressed her happiness and gratitude for being personally honored by the education minister.

Teacher felicitated for outstanding services

Minister for Human Resource Development (HRD) Nara Lokesh on Wednesday felicitated M. Kalyani Kumari, a teacher from a remote tribal village in Pathikonda mandal of Kurnool district, for her outstanding services. Recognising her sincere contribution towards improving the student enrolment from 14 to 53 in a single-teacher school at J.M. Thanda of Pathikonda mandal in Kurnool district, where Ms. Kalyani joined in 2017, Mr. Lokesh praised the former and said teachers like her would help the government achieve its goal of strengthening the public education system. The Minister informed that when Ms. Kalyani joined the school, only two of the 14 enrolled students were attending classes regularly, resulting in the authorities concerned to consider closing the school. However, she invested personal interest and also funds to provide study materials, encouraging the students to pursue education. He said that her efforts bore fruits and the student strength rose to 53 by 2020-21 academic year. Of them, 23 students qualified for Gurukul schools and one secured admission in Navodaya. The school currently has 43 students. Sharing her experience, Ms. Kalyani said that even while doing her bit to improve the students' performance, she explained to their parents that quality education is possible in government schools and introduced initiatives like 'Star of the Week', rewarding students every Monday based on parameters like homework, attendance, discipline, prayer, handwriting, hygiene and uniform. To emphasise on personal hygiene, she gifted soaps to the students on their birthdays. Appreciating the government initiative of conducting mega parent-teacher meetings, she said appointing one more teacher in single-teacher schools would help improve outcomes. Taking note of her suggestion, the Minister informed that efforts were on to improve standards in the 9,600 single-teacher schools in the State.

Photo | Express VIJAYAWADA: In a decisive step toward establishing Andhra Pradesh as a hub for emerging technologies, the State government, in collaboration with the National Quantum Mission, unveiled the Amaravati Quantum Declaration at the close of the Amaravati Quantum Valley (AQV) Workshop. The event in Vijayawada brought together global minds, scientists, industry leaders, innovators, and startup visionaries to chart the future of quantum computing, sensing, secure communication, and ecosystem-building. At the heart of the declaration is the creation of QChipIN, poised to become the country's largest open quantum testbed. Set to launch within the next 12 months at the new Amaravati Quantum Valley Tech Park, QChipIN will serve as a platform for piloting quantum solutions across critical sectors such as healthcare, banking, logistics, space, and defence. The declaration lays out an ambitious timeline. By January 2026, it aims to install IBM's Quantum System Two. Within a year after that, three quantum computers using different qubit technologies are expected to go live, supported by the testing of 100 quantum algorithms. The longer-term vision is striking: AQV intends to reach a capacity of 1,000 effective qubits and conduct more than 1,000 algorithmic tests annually by 2029.

Lokesh urges TDP leaders to appreciate efforts of cadre

Vijayawada: Minister for Education and IT and TDP national general secretary Nara Lokesh, while cementing his ties with members at the grassroots level, on Sunday called upon party workers to diligently promote the 'Suparipalana - Tholi Adugu' (The First Step in Good Governance) campaign door-to-door for a month, ensuring its success. He made these remarks during a TDP meeting held at the party's national office here, which focused on the campaign marking a year of the NDA government's rule. While taking the campaign to every household, members should explain the coalition government's developmental and welfare initiatives of the past year and record public feedback via an app, Lokesh explained. He also instructed members to report their work through the 'My TDP' app, ensuring strict adherence to the door-to-door campaign for its success. While seeking to galvanise the party at all levels, Lokesh recounted the overwhelming public mandate given to the party in the 2024 elections. 'The primary reason for this victory was the arrogance and work ethic of the previous rulers,' he stated. He particularly emphasized the immense hard work of the party cadre behind this success. Lokesh recalled that during his Yuva Galam padayatra, party leader Chandrababu Naidu had introduced the CUB (Cluster, Unit, Booth) system. Despite initial skepticism, this system had significantly strengthened the party's booths and enabled numerous activities, he pointed out. Lokesh asserted that the previous ruling party's arrogance was the sole reason for their decline from 151 seats to just 11. He urged all party members to remember this lesson. He advised party members to operate 'as if we are in Opposition, even while in power.' This approach, he explained, involved actively addressing public issues. The TDP national general secretary appealed to everyone not to forget the hardworking cadre who had faced harassment, false cases, and even imprisonment during the previous regime. He mentioned the appointment of observers to ensure the party cadre are not overlooked, while being fully utilised. Describing the party office as a 'sacred temple,' Lokesh stressed the need to build party offices in every district and constituency. He announced efforts to significantly involve women in the party structure by introducing co-convener positions in CUBs. Lokesh underlined the necessity of combining the experience of senior leaders with the energy of the youth. He called for fostering a spirit of competition among party members, noting that Minister Nimmala Ramanaidu had topped the list for organisational building in his constituency, while Mangalagiri stood fifth. Lokesh concluded by observing 'party is supreme' and that continuous victory, as seen in Kuppam due to robust organisational structure, was achievable with focused efforts on party organisation. He mentioned that 90 per cent of KSS (Karyakartha Sadhikaratha Sarathi) registrations, along with 82 per cent of booths, 80 per cent of units, and 80 per cent of clusters, had been completed. He called for strengthening of allied wings and prioritizing those who worked in various committees by July 5th.

Launch outreach drive to highlight govt feats: Lokesh

Vijayawada: Unveiling the party's roadmap to connect with the masses, HRD and IT minister and national general secretary Nara Lokesh urged party leaders to spend the next month among the people, highlighting the govt's achievements over the past year. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now He emphasized that party legislators must not overlook grassroots activists, crediting them as the backbone of the party's sweeping success in the last elections. Lokesh stressed the importance of bridging the gap between veteran and young leaders and called on legislators to take this message to the ground level. Addressing a party conclave at the TDP headquarters on Sunday, Lokesh said the public had given them an overwhelming 94% of the seats in the 2024 elections, largely due to the arrogance and misgovernance of the previous regime. He recalled how the YSRCP government had filed false cases against many TDP leaders during its tenure. "There was a time when, every Saturday, we didn't know whose wall they would demolish, whose house they would destroy, or who they would send to jail. The same police who salute us today once harassed us. Such measures did not help them win the elections. Their arrogance led them to defeat," he said. Lokesh cautioned party leaders to remain grounded and committed to resolving public grievances. He cited the example of tobacco farmers' issues in Ongole, which he raised with the agriculture minister and chief minister after visiting party leader Veeraiah Chowdary's family. He called for a proactive approach from legislators in addressing people's concerns and emphasized the need for constituency-level development. He said that the govt is working to fulfil every possible manner and in a strategic manner. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now "Despite financial challenges, we have implemented the 'Talli ki Vandanam' and enhanced welfare pensions to the elderly people. Salaries of employees are being paid on the first of every month. We have started Anna Canteens. We are not saying we have done everything. We must go to the people and explain the development and welfare achievements of the coalition government. We are working with the goal of systematically fulfilling every promise," Lokesh said.
