Nagarjuna Opens Up On His Role In Dhanush's Kuberaa: 'I Play A CBI Officer'
Last Updated: Kuberaa stars Nagarjuna, Dhanush and Rashmika Mandanna. It is directed by Sekhar Kammula. Actor Nagarjuna, who plays one of the leads along with Dhanush and Rashmika Mandanna in director Sekhar Kammula's eagerly awaited entertainer 'Kuberaa', has now disclosed that he plays a CBI officer in the film. During a media interaction, the actor, who was asked about his character in the film, said, 'I play a middle-class person. I will be seen in the character of a CBI officer. My character finds itself in the midst of a conflict of whether to do good or bad." Stating that his character had many shades, Nagarjuna praised director Sekhar Kammula, saying the director had written his character wonderfully well. 'It is a character that has a good scope for a shuttle performance," he said. Responding to another question on why he had chosen to do a multi-starrer, the acting ace said, 'To come up with good stories, stars have to work together. I have done many films before. My father (ANR) NTR garu, Krishna garu, Shobhan Babu garu… all these people have done many films together." The actor also admitted that he had always wanted to work with director Sekhar Kammula. 'We all know about his films from the time he made 'Anand'. I like his films a lot. His stories have a socially relevant point," he pointed out. Apart from Nagarjuna, Dhanush and Rashmika, 'Kuberaa' will also feature Jim Sarbh in a pivotal role. The film is keenly awaited as this is the first time that National-award winning actor Dhanush is joining hands with ace filmmaker Sekhar Kammula. On the technical front, the film has music by Devi Sri Prasad, who is riding high on the success of his recent releases. 'Kuberaa' has cinematography by Niketh Bommi. Ramakrishna Sabbani and Monika Nigotre are the production designers of the film, which has been co-written by Chaithanya Pingali. Costumes for the film have been designed by Kavya Sriram and Poorvaa Jain. Kubera is being bankrolled by Suniel Naran and Puskur Ram Mohan Rao under the banner of Sree Venkateswara Cinemas. The film has been cleared for release with a U/A certificate. The version that has been cleared for release has a run time of 181 minutes (Three hours and one minute). 'Kuberaa' is slated to hit screens worldwide on June 20 in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam. First Published:

Nana Patekar has been an influential figure in the Indian entertainment industry. Following his debut in 1978 with film Garman , he built a name for himself as one of the most talented and versatile actors. But many aren't aware that his wife, Neelakanti Patekar, is just as talented as him. The National-award winning actress is known for her impressive contributions to Marathi cinema. Born in Pune, Maharashtra, Neelakanti's father was in the central excise department, due to which she had to spent most of her childhood relocating to different cities. After completing her school, she sat for IIT entrance and cleared the examination with an impressive rank. Her father wanted her to pursue a career in physics, but her inclination was always towards acting. As a child artist, Neelakanti actively worked in many plays, and thereafter made a significant mark in the Marathi theatre with her impactful performances. She secured numerous awards, including a gold medal for best actress in the Maharashtra State Drama Competition in 1973. She also won a Best actress award for her film Aatm Vishwas (1989) from the Maharashtra State Government. Neelakanti Patekar has been away from the industry for quite a some time. However, after a significant break, she made an impressive comeback with the Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna starrer Chhaava . Her performance earned her widespread praise, marking an impactful return to silver-screen nearly a decade later. Neelakanti and Nana Patekar got married in 1978 when the actor was 27 years old. They first met during a Marathi play. Soon, their friendship blossomed into love, and they decided to get married. After a few years, the couple embraced parenthood with the birth of their son, who tragically passed away at the age of two and a half. Later, they were blessed with another baby boy, whom they lovingly named Malhar.

Taking to X to pen a lengthy post, wishing the unit of director Sekhar Kammula's Kuberaa all the very best as the film gears up for release, Vijay Deverakonda wrote,"Wishing #Kuberaa all the very best as it heads to the big screen. @sekharkammula sir will always be a special name in my journey - he gave many actors like me hope. Nagarjuna wraps up dubbing for Sekhar Kammula's 'Kuberaa'
The makers of director 's highly anticipated pan-Indian movie, 'Kuberaa', featuring actors and Nagarjuna in the lead, have disclosed that actor Nagarjuna has now completed dubbing for his portions in the film. Get ready to witness his power-packed presence from June 20th. In cinemas June 20, 2025." The film has triggered huge expectations amongst fans and film buffs. It may be recalled that the makers of the film have already disclosed that actor Dhanush plays a character called Deva in the film. It may be recalled that Dhanush, at the audio launch of 'Kuberaa', had praised the film's director Sekhar Kammula, calling him "a pure soul, like a divine angel." Dhanush also recalled his first scene for the film which he said he shot barefoot and under the scorching Tirupati sun. The actor shot the scene, dressed in rags. The experience, he said, had reminded him of life's essential truths, much like his time filming 'Raanjhaana' in Banaras, amidst funeral pyres. "Greed, money, worldly pleasures-they're nothing," the actor had said. "What matters is a pure soul. 'Kuberaa' will make you realize that. I am 2000% confident about the impact this film will have."
