Her mom Lisa Harvey was also a basketball star, winning a National Championship with Louisiana Tech in 1988. As for Gondrezick's sister, Kalabrya, she spent a season on Michigan State's basketball roster. She was married to former NFL quarterback Dwayne Haskins, who tragically died in 2022 after being struck by a dump truck in Florida while attempting to cross a highway on foot. Gondrezick's sporting career saw her head for Michigan in 2016 where she was named to the Big-Ten All-Freshman Team after making 33 appearances, averaging 14.9 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game. She transferred to West Michigan the following season, being forced to sit out her sophomore year because of the NCAA's transfer rules. Over the following three seasons, Gondrezick would play in 56 games, hitting an average of 17.1 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 3.8 assists a game.

Auburn golfer Brendan Valdes earns top 20 finish at 3M Open
Former Auburn star golfer Brendan Valdes had the best performance of his young professional career last weekend. A member of the 2024 National Championship team, Valdes finished in the top 20 at the 3M Open at TPC Twin Cities with a 15-under par performance. The 22-year-old finished his tournament with a better score than many veteran PGA Tour members such as Ricky Fowler, Max Homa, and the 2024 3M Open champion, Jhonattan Vegas. Valdes has now made the cut in his first two career PGA Tour events. Valdes set the golf media into a frenzy with his back nine performance in his first round on Thursday, birdieing seven of his final nine holes to finish with a bogey-free round. The opening round 64 put Valdes right at the top of the leaderboard after Thursday, before he struggled on Friday, finishing even to hold firm at 7-under par heading into the weekend. The Orlando, Florida native re-found some magic over the weekend, shooting a 3-under par 68 on 'Moving Day' before ending his tournament with a 5-under par 66 on Sunday. His 15-under par showing was three strokes within the top 10, and eight strokes behind eventual champion Kurt Kitayama's 23-under par. Now two events into his PGA career, Valdes has shown the ability to contend for a tournament title very soon. The former Tiger will likely have to wait a few weeks before he can attempt to capture his first top 10 performance, as the PGA Tour FedEx Cup Playoffs begin in August. ESPN ‘deeply hurt' Dick Vitale with UNC-Duke decision
Dick Vitale didn't let it on publicly, but the legendary analyst was reportedly 'deeply' hurt when ESPN removed him from calling Duke-UNC games in 2015. Vitale had spent 35 years color commentating the storied rivalry, but the network opted to replace him with Jay Bilas, a decision made by then-ESPN president John Skipper. Vitale, 86, has remained at ESPN in the following years, as a core part of the network's college basketball coverage. Known for his highly entertaining, energetic and unmistakable broadcast style, and for signature phrases like 'Awesome, baby!' and 'Dipsy-doo dunk-a-roo,' Vitale has become one of the most beloved figures in college hoops over the years. A former coach who worked in the high school and college ranks before a brief stint as head coach of the Pistons (1978-79), Vitale first joined ESPN in 1979, when he called his first Duke-UNC game. He announced that he was officially cancer-free in December 2024, and he made his return to the broadcast booth for the first time in two years for the Duke-Clemson game on Feb. 8. 'Santa Claus came early,' Vitale wrote on X at the time. 'Yes I'm cutting down the nets baby it's my National Championship!' Vitale is under contract with ESPN through the 2027-28 season, and he's expected to be part of the broadcast for the newly introduced Dick Vitale Invitational, which will feature Duke and Texas in Charlotte, N.C. on Nov. 4.
