Meanwhile, the actress' family's refusal to take her body for burial caused an uproar on social media with several people and government institutions coming forward to offer to arrange the burial. However, her brother Navid Asghar, who received the model's body after DNA matching, said the family had not refused to take the body. He admitted that the family had disowned her for joining showbiz against its wishes. 'The media's focus was entirely on our family. It never highlighted other possible causes of death,' he said. According to a report in Dawn, the actor was living on rent, and her decomposed body was discovered after the authorities broke the locks to enter the property. Humaira's body has been was shifted to a medical centre for a post-mortem examination. A police official, South DIG Syed Asad Raza, confirmed the news to the website, saying that the 32-year-old actor was found dead in her rented flat located on the fourth floor of a building in Ittehad Commercial, Phase VI. The DIG also shared that Humaira's body had been lying in the apartment for several days. However, police surgeon Dr. Summaiya Syed stated that the body was in a 'very advanced stage of decomposition.' The police sprang into action after Humaira's landlord filed a police complaint, accusing her of not paying rent since 2024. The court then ordered the flat to be vacated. It was only after the court's order that the police entered the flat and discovered Humaira's body. The police are not suspecting any foul play in the matter, as all the doors of the apartment were locked from the inside. The news of Humaira's death comes shortly after another Pakistani TV actor, Ayesha Khan, was found dead last month in her apartment. Humaira's last Instagram post dates back to September 30, 2024. She had been absent from social media for the past nine months. The post was a collection of photos of herself, where she was seen posing in a beige and orange salwar kameez. She received formal training in Visual and Performing Arts at the National College of Arts (NCA) in Lahore and the College of Art & Design (PUCAD). Humaira Asghar's death According to Dawn, police discovered Humaira's body on Tuesday in her apartment in the Defence Housing Authority (DHA), Karachi. DIG South revealed that the police had arrived to enforce a court order to vacate the flat. Officers from the Gizri Police Station reached the location at 3:15pm. When there was no response at the door, they forcibly entered the flat and found her deceased. SSP South, Mahzoor Ali, stated that Humaira had stopped paying rent since 2024, which prompted the landlord to seek a court order for eviction. Her body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for a post-mortem examination. Police surgeon Dr Summaiya Syed confirmed that the body was in a 'very advanced stage of decomposition' and had been there for several days. Celebrities including Amar Khan, Mawra Hocane, Adnan Siddiqui and Hina Altaf have expressed shock and sorrow over her untimely death.
