Advertisement It said performances such as Joget Lambak and Magunatip (bamboo dance), as well as a special choreography set to the Visit Malaysia 2026 theme song, have created a phenomenon of their own at the expo. 'There are visitors who return daily to learn the dance steps, and during the interactive segments, the entire audience joins in, dancing together. This clearly demonstrates that Malaysian art has the power to transcend language and cultural barriers,' it said in a statement. JKKN's official representative, Rayner Mailap, in the same statement, attributed the success to careful planning, particularly in the selection of talented dancers and thoughtfully crafted choreography, ensuring that every performance at the Malaysian Pavilion stage genuinely reflects the richness and vibrancy of Malaysian culture. He said that skills, discipline, versatility, and the ability to multitask were among the key criteria considered in selecting dancers to represent Malaysia at the exposition, which runs for six months from April 13 to October 13. "We placed strong emphasis on authentic movements, proper attire, aesthetic presentation, clear delivery, effective audience interaction, self-confidence, and the ability to handle unexpected challenges during performances,' said Rayner. One of the dancers, Nur Syahierah Mat Sapauwi, shared that the visual elements, particularly the traditional costumes worn by the dancers, were among the aspects that most captivated audiences. She noted that the attire from the Murut tribe, in particular, often drew admiration. 'This costume, made from tree bark and adorned with 'kuang raya' bird feathers and intricate beadwork, represents both beauty and bravery. It stands as a proud symbol of Borneo's rich cultural identity and frequently receives praise from visitors,' she said. Another dancer, Mohammad Fazly Izwan Abd Rahman, added that the 'Joget Lambak' was chosen as the dance taught to visitors because of its lively, engaging nature and simplicity, making it easy for people of all backgrounds to learn and enjoy. PKR'S digital platform virtual campaigns convey message effectively to grassroots
KOTA BHARU: Incumbent and candidate for the post of PKR Deputy President, Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli is confident that the campaign approach through digital platforms can convey the party's message more effectively to the grassroots and representatives, even though the campaign period is only about a week long. Rafizi said that PKR's strength on social media has always been an advantage in reaching not only party members at the grassroots level, but also the people who support the party's struggle. 'Every night, over 20,000 views are recorded for the virtual campaign sessions. This is not an election season, just a party election, yet this response shows that our message is getting through. 'What is important is that the message resonates with the core base of PKR ordinary members, representatives, and the people who support us,' he said. He said this to reporters after speaking at the Program Tour to Revive Reformasi Idealism in Power Test (HIRUK) Zone of Kelantan and Terengganu at the National Department of Culture and Arts (JKKN) Complex in Kelantan, Tanjong Chat, here tonight. Meanwhile, commenting on the statement from the PKR Discipline Board urging all candidates and supporters to stop personal attacks, Rafizi said that this matter should be taken positively by all candidates. He stated that any allegations of disciplinary violations should be submitted through the available channels and investigated fairly by the party's Discipline Board. Also present was the Chief Minister of Negeri Sembilan, Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun. The PKR elections will see a one-on-one contest for the Deputy President's position between Nurul Izzah and Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli, while the party president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim remains unchallenged. The PKR National Congress, including the Youth and Women's Congress, is scheduled to take place from May 22 to 24 in Johor Bahru, with the election of central leadership held on May 23.
