NORTHEAST OKLAHOMA — Last week, we told you about four exceptional Delaware students who earned academic all-state honors. Grove High School Seniors Brecklynn Carnes and Joseph Wang, Colcord's Vince Minard, and Kansas High School Alexa Schwabe were selected out of 100 students from across the state. They will be honored at the 2025 Academic Awards Celebration on May 10 and receive a $1,500 award, an honor cord, and a medallion. What happens if the Department of Education is abolished? Meet these generation changers below: AP Scholar with Honors Integris Hospital intern Senior Class President Math Club President Interact Club President Character Counts Club President Heritage Club Vice President National Indigenous Recognition Program member Member of the Grove Varsity Cheerleading squad Involved with her church worship team and youth group Valedictorian Gates Scholarship finalist Questbridge Match Scholar First Colcord student to attend an Ivy League university Class President Student Council President BPA President Academic Team Captain Oklahoma House of Representatives page Vince enjoys long hikes and time with family Co-Valedictorian Advanced Placement Scholar Coca-Cola Scholarship Regional Finalist Oklahoma Board of Regents Academic Scholar Nominee Rural/Small Town, Hispanic, and Indigenous National Recognition Program Awards Student Council President Senior Class Vice President Yearbook editor Chess Club secretary Maintained a community Little Free Library since 2019. Active in her high school's drama club, academic team, FCA chapter, and local church. She enjoys reading novels, watching classical cinema, and playing piano in her free time.
