West End bar wins Glasgow pub of the year at national awards
The cosy pub, kitchen and terrace opened in August last year and offers delicious brunch, lunch and dinner menus featuring fresh seafood and meat from the islands. They also showcase live music every weekend and host a pub quiz every Wednesday. Judges chose the bar as the winner for Glasgow City, which recognises pub businesses in regions across the UK. The Ben Nevis Bar in Fort William was named Highland Pub of the Year for the third year running, and Macgochans in Tobermory on the Isle of Mull was named Argyll & Bute Pub of the Year for the second year in a row. See the 2 'superb' pubs named the best in Scotland
The Barrelman in Dundee was awarded the title of North Scotland Pub & Bar of the Year, while The Kenmuir Arms in Dumfries and Galloway was named South Scotland Pub & Bar of the Year. A number of locations across the UK were recognised in their respective regions, with The Bull in Charlbury being named the country's best. 'Delightful' and ' superb' pubs and bars named the best in Scotland The Barrelman in Dundee has received a lot of praise from patrons on Tripadvisor, with users giving the bar a 4.5/5 out of 397 reviews. One happy visitor said of the National Pub & Bar Awards winner: "Dined here with my partner on Monday evening for a casual birthday dinner and we were not disappointed in the slightest. "All of the staff were exceptionally welcoming and friendly. The drinks came quickly, and the cocktails were spot on." Another added: "Really decent place with an indie feel to it. The staff were top-notch, and they helped create this atmosphere. Dog friendly also, which helped too. Food is decent with plenty of options." The Kenmuir Arms was also commended by customers and dubbed a "superb" pub to visit. One person said of the Dumfries and Galloway bar and hotel: "What a truly wonderful place with everything you need for an incredible stay. "Excellent surroundings literally only 15 minutes from Glen Luce. The beautiful restaurant overlooks the stunning gardens and river." Montgomery bar recognised among UK's best at national awards
A "mind blowing" bar in Powys, with top-quality food, has been recognised among the UK's best at a national awards ceremony. The 2025 National Pub & Bar Awards took place on Tuesday (June 24), showcasing the finest establishments from across the UK. Awards presented at the event included: National Pub & Bar of the Year Industry's Choice Award Pub Group of the Year Bar Group of the Year The Tyrrells Tyrrellbly Good Taste Award The best pubs and bars for each region were also revealed as part of the national awards. 'Pubs have really been struggling, so it's amazing for this event to shine a spotlight on pubs and show that they really are pillars of the community, the backbone of Britain.' "We have eaten in many amazing places but this experience blew our mind and the carrots were just amazing. "The resturant has a lovely fire place with such a nice homely feel and the service was beyond 5*. "Its the small details that i also noticed, everything from start to finish was perfect. "We stayed in the dafoldill room but to be honest I could have slept in the chair by the fire is was so lovely.
