Here's a little context: I hate wearing bras. But who doesn't, really? I'm convinced it's a universal fact for all of us bra wearers that there's no better feeling than freeing the gals after a long day of work, happy hour drinks and errands. The pop of the clasps, the release of tension and the flood of relief, bliss and freedom. I hate bras so much, that I'd rather wear sticky boobs or tape my nipples down than succumb to the confining squeeze.
So, when I received the task of trying out the cult-favorite Natori Feathers bra, I was a bit hesitant, but let me tell you, it is *so* worth it. Best of all, it's currently over 30 percent off for the Nordstrom Anniversary sale, which runs through Sunday, August 3.

Started by Josie Natori on the floor of her living room in 1997, the lingerie brand quickly became known for making the most comfortable bras on the market for women with small breasts and big boobs, offering sizes 32A through 36G, 30A through 30DDD and 38 B through 38DD.
To be quite honest, I gave up on the one-brand-accommodates-all notion years ago, accepting my fate with ill-fitting bras and living with the gap in my cups, tight band and loose straps. It wasn't until a recent event, where I was treated to a bra-fitting—something I hadn't experienced since high school—when I realized that I might be wearing the wrong size bra. The bra expert assured me that I'm a 34B—not a 32D or 34C like I had always worn. Then, I took a chance on the Natori Feathers bra.

The brand's original plunge T-shirt bra features a gorgeous Italian lace trim and mesh overlay that spices up the sex appeal on an otherwise basic bra that has remained one of the top sellers for over a decade. I opted for a size 34B, and I was pleasantly surprised from the moment I slipped it on. Not only had I ordered the correct size, but the bra was *actually* comfortable and supportive. How could that be?
Between the soft feel of the fabric to the thin, lightweight padding that felt so malleable and non-suffocating on my skin, I almost forgot that I was even wearing a bra. The lace band felt supple and breathable against my chest and ribcage like a gentle hug that never dug in or caused my skin to spill over (the bra is made from a blend of up to 50 percent recycled materials). The demi contour and deep plunge created a flattering shape and natural lift that looked great with my V-neck blouses and dresses.
I didn't love how the lace poked out of scoop neck tank tops, but I've continued to wear it with other necklines non-stop for weeks on end. Despite the lace design, the bra looks smooth underneath my shirts and I never see lumps or divots poking out against the fabric. I don't have the patience to give it a hand wash, as the brand suggests, but I'm happy to report that it has survived the delicates wash cycle like a champ (just make sure to zip it up in a washing bag for delicates for extra protection).
Bottom line: When a bra can look great and make me feel like I'm going braless, it's a miracle worker. Ladies, don't give up hope like I almost did.
