No roti and rice: Inside Sarfaraz Khan's incredible body transformation
Sarfaraz Khan's father Naushad Khan revealed how the Mumbai batter was able to undergo a drastic body transformation over the past few months. Sarfaraz surprised the cricket world on Monday, July 21, when he showed off a leaner physique. The 27-year-old received praise from Kevin Pietersen for focusing on his physique and the former England skipper said that it could bring him more success on the field. advertisementBefore the start of India A's tour of England for the matches against the England Lions, Sarfaraz had reportedly dropped 10 kilos and it is now being reported that the Mumbai batter has been able to lose close to 17. Speaking to Hindustan Times, Sarfaraz's father said that they have stopped eating roti and rice for the past one to one and a half months at their home, focusing more on vegetables and proteins. He went on to say that cutting out sugar from the diet has helped Sarfaraz shed weight. "We have controlled our diet a lot. We have stopped eating roti, rice, etc. We haven't eaten roti or rice at home for 1 to 1.5 months. We eat broccoli, carrot, cucumber, salad, and green vegetable salad. Along with that, we eat grilled fish, grilled chicken, boiled chicken, boiled egg, etc. We are also having green tea and green coffee," said Naushad to Hindustan Times. "We eat avocados also. There are sprouts also. But the main thing is that we have stopped eating roti and rice. We have stopped eating sugar. We have stopped eating maida (flour) and bakery items."Naushad said that he is also participating in the diet plan with his son as he is planning on getting a surgery on his knee. He went on to say that Sarfaraz plans to lose more weight in the coming months. "He has almost lost 10 kgs within 1.5 months. He is working on reducing his weight even further. I have reduced 12 kgs myself because I had a knee issue. So, I also benefited from it. The doctor told me that I have to do a knee replacement. So, I told him that I had to delay it. He told me that I have to reduce my weight for that," said Naushad. Sarfaraz's India career so farAfter being a run-machine on the domestic circuit for Mumbai, Sarfaraz finally got his chance to play for the Indian team during the series at home against England in 2024. The 27-year-old impressed everyone with his batting but has found it tough to seal a spot in the side. advertisementWhile he was part of the touring squad to Australia for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, Sarfaraz didn't get to play a single game and was subsequently not considered to be a part of the team for the ongoing series against England. However, he did impress during the India A vs England Lions games and the intra-squad match, where he scored a hundred. - Ends

How Ignored India Star Sarfaraz Khan Lost 17 Kg In Just Over 2 Months: "Green Coffee, Broccoli, No Rice, No..."
Sarfaraz Khan on Monday stunned the cricket world by sharing his latest image where the talented batter looked a lot leaner than his earlier self. Several reports claimed that he had lost 17 kg in little over two months, and the 27-year-old himself shared a photo which said he lost the reported weight. Khan, who has played six Tests scoring 371 runs, was not picked for the India squad that is currently playing in England. He, however, featured in the India A Tour of England that preceded the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy and scored a ton too. Though Sarfaraz broke into the Indian team last year, making his Test debut against England in February, he hasn't quite managed to cement his place in the team yet. While runs have been coming from Sarfaraz's bat in domestic cricket, the right-handed batter has further proven his resolve by working hard on his fitness too. So, how did Sarfaraz Khan lose 17kgs? In May, when he was named for the India A Tour, his father Naushad gave a detailed account of his weight loss journey. We are also having green tea and green coffee," Naushad told HT. "We eat avocados also. There are sprouts also. But the main thing is that we have stopped eating roti and rice. We have stopped eating sugar. We have stopped eating maida (flour) and bakery items." Naushad added that Sarfaraz had given up on Biryani too. "He has almost lost 10 kgs within 1.5 months. He is working on reducing his weight even further. I have reduced 12 kgs myself because I had a knee issue. So, I also benefited from it. The doctor told me that I have to do a knee replacement. So, I told him that I had to delay it. He told me that I have to reduce my weight for that," Naushad said. Sarfaraz's snub for the India Tour of England was criticised by many former cricketers.

IND U19 vs ENG U19: With ‘Naushad uncle' guiding him, England captain Hamza Shaikh slams century in Youth Test
England U-19 captain Hamza Shaikh. Mumbai: Going into the two-Youth Test series against India, England's Under-19 captain Hamza Shaikh was a tad worried about his lean run, which saw him score around 200 runs in 20 innings. However, a few training sessions in Birmingham with Naushad Khan , the father-cum-coach of Sarfaraz and Musheer Khan, who happened to be in England this summer, seem to have done wonders for the youngster's confidence and form. Following those sessions with Naushad, while batting for the Warwickshire 2nd XI, Shaikh — whose family hails from Surat in Gujarat — scored three fifties in four matches. Then, in the first Youth Test against India at Beckenham, which ended in a draw, Hamza stood out with quality knocks of 84 and 112. Go Beyond The Boundary with our YouTube channel. SUBSCRIBE NOW! 'This season, I was struggling for runs but didn't feel out of form. I never felt that I was far from runs, but all I had managed to score was around 200 runs in 20 innings across all formats. Of course, that lean run can also be attributed to the typical early-season tough conditions in England. With green wickets around, batting can be challenging. Now that the conditions are sunnier and the wickets flatter, batting has also got easier,' Hamza Shaikh told TOI from Beckenham on Wednesday. Slightly worried by his son's poor returns with the bat, Hamza's father Iliyas asked Naushad — whom the Shaikhs had met for the first time last year in Bengaluru — to have a look at where his son could be slightly erring. Perhaps, the Shaikhs' Indian connection helped them forge an instant friendship with Naushad and his sons. "When I was in England (both my sons, Sarfaraz and Musheer, were touring England with India A and the Mumbai Emerging team respectively), Hamza's father Iliyas Shaikh asked me to have a look at Hamza's batting and help him recover his form. I trained Hamza for a few sessions in Birmingham, saw him play live in a couple of matches, and took his videos," said Naushad, now back in Mumbai. Inside Lord's: Exclusive Stadium Tour & Must-Do Experiences 'Luckily, Naushad uncle was in Nottingham, which is near Birmingham, and thus we ended up having some good training sessions. It was nice — he spoke about the mental side of the game. The main focus was red-ball cricket. He had seen my videos from the previous couple of games and gave me his feedback. We went to my club and trained there. He watched me play against a few local bowlers. He pointed out a couple of things which could be better. We practiced on a wet surface against the swinging ball,' Hamza revealed. 'We had a good chat on the mental side of the game. Obviously, the way he's prepared Sarfaraz and Musheer has been excellent, and that's the reason why they've scored so many runs in domestic cricket. It was nice to draw on the experience of Naushad uncle. I'm grateful to him. I definitely think the training sessions with him have helped me. We worked on a couple of technical and mental aspects which are really important. He told me about little things that are really helpful,' the 19-year-old said. 'Naushad uncle told me to trust my mind and technique. He enjoyed watching my hundred against the India Under-19 team. He told me that it was nice that I got runs, but there's always room for improvement. Representing and captaining the England Under-19 team is a big honour. It was nice to contribute as a captain,' Hamza said. Elaborating on what technical changes he suggested to Hamza, Naushad said, "His trigger movement was too big and too late, because of which he was being late on the ball. His back-lift was very high, and he was standing too upright in his stance. I only suggested minor corrections in his technique, but he seemed to be in better rhythm afterwards." 'I told him to play every ball according to its merit. I looked to change his mindset a bit. We spoke about his game plan in the middle and how he should look to build his innings. I must say that he's a very good student — he learns very fast. After his training sessions with me, he was getting better with every match. Whenever I go to England, or he comes to India, we are looking forward to working together again. We are in touch on the phone. He keeps sending his videos, and I give my feedback on them. Whenever I get time, I watch his matches,' Naushad explained. 'I also had a training session with Haseeb Hameed (who has played 10 Tests for England but is currently out of favour) and (England leg-spinner) Rehan Ahmed in England. All of them enjoyed and appreciated my coaching style,' Naushad concluded. Catch Rani Rampal's inspiring story on Game On, Episode 4. Watch Here!

Two get life sentences for kidnapping, brutal murder
New Delhi [India], July 15 (ANI): Delhi's Rohini District Court has recently sentenced two men to life imprisonment for murder, Kidnapping and destruction of evidence. This case pertains to an FIR lodged at the Narela Police Station in 2017. The deceased Om Hare was kidnapped by convicts with premeditated planning, and thereafter, his body was disposed of by both the convicts. Additional Sessions Judge (ASJ) Vandana sentenced Navrattan alias Kale and Naushad to life imprisonment for murdering Om Hare. ASJ Vandana observed, 'The nature of the offence committed in the present case is very serious.' 'The deceased was kidnapped by convicts with premeditated planning and brutally murdered, and thereafter, both the convicts disposed of his body,' ASJ Vandana said in the order passed on July 4. Additionally, the court has imposed a fine of Rs 20,000 on each accused. During arguements on sentence, additional public prosecutor (APP) Vinit Dahiya argued that convicts deserve no leniency since the deceased was brutally murdered by them. He further argued that the present case falls under the category of the rarest of rare cases. He prayed for maximum punishment for both convicts. On the other hand, counsel for accused persons prayed for leniency in punishment for convicts. The counsel for the convict, Naushad, stated that the convict has two minor children who are completely dependent upon him. The counsel for the convict Navratan further submitted that convicts belong to poor strata of society, hence, a prayer was made for taking a lenient view against the convicts, considering the facts that they have no previous conviction records and have been in Judicial Custodyfor so many years. Convicts were in custody for the last seven years and 10 months. (ANI)

Man posing as cop held for exploiting 20 women nationwide
Representative image. AGRA: Muzaffarnagar Police on Tuesday arrested a man accused of posing as a police constable to deceive and sexually exploit more than 20 women across several states. The accused, identified as Naushad Tyagi, 30, allegedly used the alias Rahul Tyagi and wore a fake police uniform to gain the trust of vulnerable women and manipulate them into relationships. SSP Sanjay Kumar Verma said Naushad, a school dropout, targeted women on social media who lived alone, many of whom were widowed or separated from their husbands. He would then sexually exploit them before disappearing from their lives. His activities spanned multiple cities, including Delhi, Ghaziabad , Bulandshahr, Mathura, Sambhal, Muzaffarnagar, and even parts of Assam and Meghalaya. During interrogation, Naushad admitted to having 18–20 girlfriends and confessed to physically exploiting at least 10 of them. The matter came to light when one of the women filed a complaint at the city police station, after which the case was handed over to DSP (City) Raju Kumar. Naushad, a resident of Charthawal in Muzaffarnagar, was arrested and a fake police uniform was recovered from him. He has been booked under several sections, including BNS Section 69 (sexual intercourse obtained through deceit). SSP Verma said Naushad had been using the fake uniform, allegedly stolen from a real constable friend in Sambhal, for over two years. He even mingled with actual police personnel without revealing his true identity. Legal action is underway, and police have urged other potential victims to come forward.
