Teej Samaroh: Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini reviews preparations, to announce initiatives for women

Chandigarh: Haryana chief minister Nayab Singh Saini is set to make several significant announcements for women during the state-level 'Teej Samaroh', scheduled to be held in Ambala on July 28. On Wednesday, Saini reviewed the preparations for 'Teej Samaroh' and issued directions to the officials concerned to ensure successful organisation of the event. Thousands of women across the state are likely to participate in the samaroh. The CM will launch various initiatives related to the panchayats department, Haryana State Rural Livelihood Mission, Drone Imaging and Information Service of Haryana Limited, women and child development department, micro small and medium enterprises, industries and commerce department, art and culture department, State Urban Livelihood Mission, and the urban local bodies department, said an official spokesperson. These initiatives are aimed at empowering women and further strengthening their socio-economic status, the spokesperson added. The CM said the state govt was committed to the empowerment of women by promoting their self-reliance and has implemented several schemes and programmes towards this goal. He said self-help group (SHG) members would be trained in drone operation through the Drone Imaging and Information Services of Haryana in a phased manner. Additionally, to provide the SHGs with a platform to sell their products, Sanjha Bazaars are being established across the state. These markets have already started in Karnal, Rohtak, and Fatehabad districts, and are set to open soon in Jind and Rewari, said Saini. The CM said Sanjha Bazaars would be rolled out in all 22 districts of Haryana in a phased manner. A total of 9,640 SHGs have been formed under the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana – National Urban Livelihoods Mission in the state.

Chandigarh, Jul 23 (PTI) Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Wednesday announced that the state government has set a target of planting 2.10 crore saplings across the state this year. He gave a call to plant the maximum number of saplings for environmental conservation and to ensure a healthier planet and sustainable future. The chief minister said, 'With the support of citizens, I am confident that we will surpass this target once again." Addressing a state-�level 'Van Mahotsav' programme organised at Morni in the Panchkula district, Saini also announced that the plantations initiated by the Forest Department will be geo-tagged and regularly mapped using drones each year. Their growth will be monitored for up to five years to ensure effective implementation and contribute to increasing the forest cover in Haryana. Since October 2014, about 18 crore saplings have been planted across the state, he said. Saini also appealed to the people of the state to ensure that every family plants at least one tree during this monsoon season. He said that under the first phase of 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' campaign, 1.87 crore saplings have been planted in Haryana, surpassing the target of 1.60 crore saplings. On this occasion, the chief minister also released two booklets published by the Forest and Wildlife Department, focusing on 'Herbal Vatika' and the development of Nature Trails to promote eco-tourism in the Morni region. 'Van Mahotsav is not just a tree-plantation programme, it is a commitment that reminds us that nature is our life, and protecting it is our foremost duty. Our ancestors taught us the saying, 'Vriksho Rakshati Rakshitah', which means �those who protect trees are, in turn, protected by them," the chief minister added. Chandigarh: In a landmark move to strengthen the research and innovation ecosystem in Haryana, the state government has established the Haryana State Research and Innovation Fund (HSRF) with a budget allocation of Rs 20 crore for this fiscal. Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi on Wednesday chaired a high-level meeting to finalise a comprehensive list of research projects to be undertaken by Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) under the fund. He emphasised that research should not remain confined to academic discourse but must address the real needs of governance, service delivery, and regional development. "Departments must take this opportunity to identify practical and scalable issues, whether related to education, health, agriculture, environment, industry, or urban services, and convert them into research questions that can be explored in collaboration with universities. Our aim is to produce research that leads to better outcomes for people," he said. The Chief Secretary said as per directions of Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, Administrative Secretaries should identify research topics related to their departments, focusing on areas where research could help improve public services and quality of life. The Chief Secretary told the departments to submit their research topics to the Higher Education Department by August 15. During the meeting, it was informed that the Haryana State Higher Education Council (HSHEC) has been designated as the nodal agency to manage the entire process, from inviting proposals and evaluating them to monitoring project progress and assessing outcomes. According to Additional Chief Secretary (Higher Education) Vineet Garg, under the scheme, faculty members will be eligible for grants of up to Rs 50 lakh per project, while students, including undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral scholars, can receive up to Rs 5 lakh, provided they are guided by an eligible supervisor. The number of projects awarded each year will be based on the annual budget allocation

Advt Advt Panchkula Metropolitan Development Authority is giving new momentum to urban development in the city and continuously working to make it a better place to live, PMDA CEO K Makarand Pandurang said on tackle waterlogging during monsoon, the authority has completed the cleaning of city drains, he said that Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini had issued clear instructions for the cleaning of drains across the state before the monsoon season in various on these instructions, the PMDA conducted a major campaign to clean stormwater drains, including the open drain from BEL factory through the industrial area up to Parshuram (Amartex) addition, blockages were removed from two major drains (from MDC to Rajiv-Indira Colony and from Sector-1 to Industrial Area Phase-1) to ensure proper drainage. 1 2 Chandigarh: Haryana chief minister Nayab Singh Saini said on Tuesday that the state-level Vibhajan Vibhishika Smriti Diwas will be celebrated in Faridabad on August 14 this year, in memory of the known and unknown individuals who lost their lives during the country's partition. He described the event as historic and said that people from all sections of society across the state will participate in large numbers. Saini made these remarks while addressing a meeting held here on Tuesday regarding the organisation of the event. He also said that ahead of the state-level event, Vibhajan Vibhishika Smriti Diwas programmes will be organised at various locations throughout the state over a fortnight. He said that the state-level Vibhajan Vibhishika Smriti Diwas will be organised jointly by the Haryana govt and Panchnad Trust, where rich tributes will be paid to the ancestors who lost their lives during the horrors of Partition. He urged people to bring their sons and daughters to the event so they can learn about their ancestors' sacrifices and draw inspiration from them. A govt spokesperson informed that Anganwadi workers and helpers staged protests during 2021–22, during which police cases were filed in districts such as Gurugram, Charkhi Dadri, and Karnal. Representatives of the Anganwadi Workers and Helpers Union repeatedly submitted requests for the cancellation of these cases. Taking a sympathetic view of the matter, the state govt has now decided to cancel all such cases.
